Just put him in the game even if he eventually fouls out, anything is better than having moore or thomas playing the entire 4th quarter!

Yeah, I agree, it's not even like we went on a run when Thompson went out or Natt put him back in. Why not just let him play until he fouls out? Makes zero sense.

oh my god I just realised Kenny Thomas might be coming off the bench instead of JT now.

If that happens its time to bring back Reggie.

I wouldnt mind KT over Mikki though....But then that would mean KT would be starting....

...Wow our frontline sucks :(

You are nuts if you think this is the only game in which he has shown tremendous upside. Comparing him to Kwame is fruitless - they are worlds apart in skillset, and it's the variety of ways in which Yi got his points. I'm not hailing him as a sure future star, but he has alot of talent and potential.

I'll concede that I have not been following Yi much. Did look him up a bit, when read the reports that he was at 3rd place in the Eastern All Star forward voting, and realized he was having a better season.

My comment was based solely on his performance against us tonight, and how it should not be used as a measuring stick for his talent or potential (hell Jerome James looked like a HOFer against us in the playoff series few years back).

You're right... Brown is a better defender, and has actually been a starter for a playoff team, for whatever that may be worth.

Here's a question for you: without looking it up, who would you guess had the higher career high between the two of them?

Are you insinuating Yi won't start on a playoff team? I think it's pretty clear to see that Yi has more talent than Kwame, unless you have something against the guy. Pretty much the only thing Kwame has ever been useful for, was his post defense. He's a good post defender, but it all pretty much ends there. Offensively, Yi is already miles ahead of where Kwame ever was.

Honestly don't know the career high question, but based on the fact that you actually asked it, I'm guessing Kwame. Still, I think it's largely irrelevant when talking about whose going to be better (maybe I've misunderstood you and I'm just debating with myself?).

I am insinuating nothing of the kind. I am just stating the facts. Yi has never started on a playoff team; whether or not he ever will remains to be seen. The Nets look like they might make the playoffs, but the Blazers looked like a lock at the All-Star Break last year, too.

The second part of this sentence has **** all to do with the first part, and seems to be an attempt on your part to manufacture a reason to disregard my opinion. If you don't agree with me, I don't care. If you don't want to even regard my opinion, I don't really care about that, either. But I'll thank you kindly not to, either directly or indirectly, falsely attribute your straw men to me. I'm indifferent to Kwame Brown, and I am indifferent to Jianlian Yi, and I certainly don't see any reason why anybody should get upset over the suggestion that Yi be compared to Brown, based on what the two of them have done in the NBA. Yi may well be the Chinese Larry Bird, but he hasn't proven it in the NBA.

And that has been demonstrated where?

It's pretty clear that Kwame Brown is about as good as he's going to be; in the right system, he could probably be a 12/8/2 player, and that's about it. Whether Yi will turn out to be better than that remains to be seen. People seem to think that the sky is the limit on his potential, but I seem to recall people thinking that about Johnathan Bender and Darius Miles and Nikoloz Tskitishvili, too...

Yi clearly has a lot more skill than Kwame Brown. Only question is whether he will ever overcome that inherent softness. A significant question really.
