I'm surprisd Kidd is playing with the revelation that he had a cracked rib and that he was questionable for tonight. Doesn't seem to be slowing him own much as he'll prob. get another triple double tonight.

Mark Jackson made a GREAT POINT. He was saying "There's a point where you can inspire the team, or you're going through the motions. This team is going through the motions. They just want to finish the season. They look at that too easy (Carter goes right down the lane) and on offense it's just first shot available (Bibby jacks up a 20 footer with 18 left on the clock). Eric Musselman should be embarassed. This is more than X's and O's. Can you inspire your team? No disrespect to Eric Musselman but this team is just trying to finish out the season"

Mark Jackson is actually one of my favorite commentators because he can be very funny and really isn't afraid to speak his mind. Sort of like a more knowledgable Barkley in that sense.

He also made this great comment about Scottie Pippen saying that coaches would rather have him than a Michael Jordan

"Scottie... Michael is the only one to ever make the top 50 players of all time twice... He made one for himself, and one for you"

Wow.

Brad + Bibby + KMart + KT + SAR + Corliss have combined for 4 less points than Eddie House has made in 18 minutes.

Time to put in the deep bench, this one's over.

Hey, piksi, it is much more respectable than it was. We were down by 27 in the 3rd.

The only guys on our team who deserve to be paid for this game are Artest, Price, Salmons, and Shareef. Everybody else(mainly the starters)'s effort(in particular) was pretty disgusting.

Waste of another great game by Artest

I keep hearing that. Maybe there is a reason that the team does not win when Artest has a great game.

Ron has a tendency to play "savior" or "hero." He takes over games. When that happens the rest of the team stands around knowing that Ron will dominate, take the jumpshot, take it to the hole, or force a lousy shot. They need to get involved. They need to insist on the ball.....anything that will get them more involved helping Ron.

I think it is a chemistry problem. When Ron plays well, the others don't, except for newer players who don't have a history with the team.

In the first half I didn't see Ron shooting that much and that was when the starters came in. He started to take over in the second half, along with Price getting some minutes, those 2 guys and Salmons played hard and it was almost enough to bring us back. The starters had their chance and the didn't do anything with it. IMO it had nothing to do with Ron.

Piksi: Just read the thread opener..great job! I haven't been less interested in the games, just haven't been home from work to tune in until 1/2 time yesterday and today. I'm too masochistic not to keep watching the games as much as possible. ;)

Definitely can't take away all of the blame from the players -- there's a point where professionalism and pride (both of which we've seen in the past, especially from Mike Bibby) take over and prevent this kind of... I can't bear to call it performance -- but it is the logical conclusion.

The only major change that has occurred between last season's Jekyll and this season's Hyde has been with the coaching staff. The team, minus a relatively small amount of shuffling, is virtually the same as the group that made such an impressive playoff push last year. I've never been terribly impressed with our roster, on paper or otherwise, and expected that there would be at least a little bit of a post-Adelman drop in individual performances, but... I still don't think we suck this bad. Whether it be due to a lack of confidence, or inspiration, or poor ego management, or whatever, this coaching staff has managed to go above and beyond the call of duty in making a group of mildly unimpressive near all stars and productive veterans look like questionable NBA level talent.

Yup. And they're managing to inspire me to go to community theater production nights instead of trying to rush home for an early road game...
