[Game] Kings @ Jazz 3/30/12

Agree 100%

He'd be perfect if we didn't have MT and IT to answer to.

That being said, I hope Twill sticks around.
Just sick of our non-defense, more concerned with getting up shots backcourt. You might not agree with that reasoning, but just how I feel. I believe offensive specialist type players who don't contribute on the other end belong coming off the bench.

There were a couple of times where Jimmer has had a pretty easy path to the lane, had a nice drive, then kicked out instead of finishing. I get the sense that it's all mental. It's not like a 6'1" guy can't succeed in the NBA, right? ;)

I'm not anti-Jimmer at all. He has time to learn and adjust to faster, bigger NBA. I just notice he's almost forcing himself inside and then either turning it over, getting blocked, or in this particular case putting it high on the glass because of the big trees in the paint. He can do a lot of good things in the future for Kings (or some NBA team) but he will always be around 6'1.

What in the hell does Jason Ross mean "likely" to be Kyrie Irving? If Kyrie Irving turns his ankle tomorrow night, and is done for the season. Kyrie Irving is the Rookie of the Year, so this #IsaiahROY business makes no sense. This isn't like 2009, where two other guys had a shot, it's going to be Irving: it's been a near lock to be Irving since before the All-Star Break. The only guy who could have caught Irving was Rubio, and unless they decide to go with 3+ guards, the best Thomas can hope for is 2nd Team, all Rookie. Which is damned good for Mr. Irrelevant. Kings management (read: Maloofs) should be happy with that.

More important to toss our 2nd best player by the wayside, and ignore our 2-10 record with the IT/MT/Reke/JT/Cuz lineup, so that the Kings make a little more money off a ridiculously hopeless ROY campaign. An IT/MT obviously doesn't give us our best chance at success, yet the IT ROY crap is more important to our franchise.

Jimmer rarely if ever missed those drives and short bank shots in college. Sad fact at this point is he's too small at 6'1-6'2 to go in there and finish at NBA level.

He's a rookie though. Plenty of rookies have trouble finishing and stuff. He can get a floater to make up for the difficulty of finishing closer shots. A few of those layups were good shots though he just rimmed them out.

Wait they're seriously marketing IT for ROY? He's a good player and all but I thought everyone knows Kyrie Irving is better. There are a few rookies comparable or better to IT.

They've taken out at least one half (?) page ad in the Bee about it. Plus videos and other pub. It is a funded campaign for sure.

I'm of the camp that he's a good player having a great season, but it's a bit embarrassing to try to tout him as ROY. A more subtle campaign would have been better. Like just telling Grant to talk him up or something.

Commercials, tweets from the Kings, advertising games as Thomas and the Kings take on....

Yes, it's too much.

No they're not. Just listen to the Kings marketing machine. ;)

WOW. I heard a few people doing the Isaiah ROY thing on twitter but I had no idea about the ad and stuff. I honestly feel like anything the Kings do these days is just to make the Maloofs more money, not to actually win games. I like IT and he is good, but this is kind of over the top. Personal ad campaigns shouldn't effect who plays and how much.

Oh boy... *facepalm*

It's funny because I see most of the games but since I live outside of Sac by like 2 hours and don't listen to the radio I miss some of this stuff.

What I am very curious to know, is Petrie's role in it. Is he a part of it, does he not like it but accepts it as a business strategy, or is he against it and the Maloofs simply said this is what will be?

He probably goes along with it because it reflects better on him as a drafter/GM.

Why the hell would you iso Outlaw to start off the half?

Because the negative win shares have to turn around eventually.
Because Smart wants to show Evans that he can call a play for the SF.
Technically, it was supposed to go to MT, but Outlaw got in the way.

Pick one, I gave it my best.

So Cisco takes Outlaws end of second half minutes but he starts the third? He's giving us literally nothing.

Which I suppose is better than giving us what he usually gives us.

When and where in the HELL did Outlaw get the idea that he needs to take those kinds of shots!???! Somebody tell his *** he's a role player!!!!!!!!!
