No. Stacey King was a "right place, right time" player; Williamson actually had something to do with those three rings, particularly the college one.
Just along for the ride on the one that we need though (NBA). Averaged all of 10min a game in the Finals.

Corliss has become a fascination now as some sort of magical elixir. He's not. Nice guy. Has a game you could play. But he is not some great difference maker. Especially not defensively when we are getting run over.

Really need one or two of forwards to be traded to realistically open up minutes for him.

That's a crock and it's not fair. Bibby has been suffering from a badly bruised tailbone.
Whoa, that's not fair at all. If everyone else can make sarcastic comments about poor play and individual players ... I think I should be able to do the same without someone calling me out.

Besides, what you say may be true - but it doesn't explain his lack of getting back on defense at the beginning of the year or any other point in this season. He is constantly getting beat down court by his man ... a PG should be the first one back on defense the majority of the time.

You really need to curb the nastiness about the members of our team NOT named Shareef Abdur-Rahim. It's gotten past tiresome.
I'm not nasty to everyone.

I've defended Peja lately. I stuck up for the young kids when they were on the bench. I consistantly wonder about Skinner and Corliss. Even with the whole KT thing, I haven't been nasty about him ... I went as far as to say he was the best player on the team two games ago.

I just have a particularly bad spot for Bibby (and to a point, Brad Miller) that has held over since Vancouver.

Hell, I'll even go as far as to say offensively Reef looked terrible tonight. It was painful to watch. He did his job defensively ... but started to look really intimidated by Alonzo.

It was just a little joke, i don't think he meant anything by it.

You're acting as though you're casting pearls before swine...

I'm totally perplexed by your last comment. Did you see how hard Reef was laboring just to catch his breath? I don't think he was initimidated by Zo as much as he was somewhat leery of over-exerting himself and falling to the court to flop around like a fish out of water.

No, I'm not. I was kiddign around and you got defensive.

I said nothing different than a lot of other people in this thread. It wasn't meant to be little more than a joking comment.

I did. I think he has every excuse in the world to fail night in and night out right now. Neither he (nor I) would accept taking those excuses. He had a poor night.

Heck, Reef has played half the season with a severely torqued back and it has hurt his rebounding pretty bad - but I don't see anyone granting him slack there ....

Alonzo has always had Reef's number. I can name a few other guys too: Theo Ratliff and Rasheed Wallace. They all seem to time Reef very well.

I don't want this thread to turn into an argument about the merits of Reef's injury or the validity of my statement. It was meant as a joke, just like everyone's comments and it was made out of frustration because I certainly didn't want us to lose this one tonight (just like everyone else). Sorry you think I'm just player bashing because they aren't named Reef.

I've sent you a PM outlining my take on this whole issue. I don't see any reason to debate it on the board. It simply derails the thread.

Peace.

How do we know reef has a messed up back? Have you heard it from him personally or something? Seriously you're the only one I've heard it from. BTW how come you hate Bibby since vancouver? Ever since he got out of there he's been a winner and almost an NBA champion. The team pieces don't fit and that's all there is to it. Peja doesn't fit here and Shareef doesn't really fit either.

As I said earlier in the thread, Bibby apparently got kicked in the knee in the LA game. It is sore and the ligaments got stretched. So yeah, it may be especially hard for him to run right now and get lift on his shots. They don't think its too serious, but Bibby has a sore tailbone and a apparently sore knee. So we have at least 3 players out there who are not 100%.

As a matter of fact, playmaker does know SAR personally ... not that it matters.

And let's not dredge up why he (playmaker) may have issues with Bibby from Vancouver. It really doesn't pertain to anything here at this forum.

The only person i think that doesn't fit on this team is peja if he is not hitting shots he is pretty much worthless. The thing with sar is that we have to give him the ball more.

I disagree. I think the team DOES have pieces that fit - it's just getting them into an offensive gameplan that maximizes their skillsets.

It's quite absurd for me to think that someone who follows Sacramento would say Peja doesn't fit here. He's been a HUGE part of the success Sacramento endured. He obviously fits into the system.

But, I think the team would be better served at this point going to a more traditional set ... and I think it would work and work well. It doesn't mean we abandon the things of the past - it means we incorporate a different approach to things. If the bench can hold the fort down instead of getting plowed - I really think this team is capable of something.

We just have to move away from the comfort of "old Kings basketball", in my opinion.

And I apologize in advance for the following:

BLACK KNIGHT:
None shall pass.

ARTHUR:
What?

BLACK KNIGHT:
None shall pass.

ARTHUR:
I have no quarrel with you, good Sir Knight, but I must cross this bridge.

BLACK KNIGHT:
Then you shall die.

ARTHUR:
I command you, as King of the Britons, to stand aside!

BLACK KNIGHT:
I move for no man.

ARTHUR:
So be it!

ARTHUR and BLACK KNIGHT:
Aaah!, hiyaah!, etc.
[ARTHUR chops the BLACK KNIGHT's left arm off]

ARTHUR:
Now stand aside, worthy adversary.

BLACK KNIGHT:
'Tis but a scratch.

ARTHUR:
A scratch? Your arm's off!

BLACK KNIGHT:
No, it isn't.

ARTHUR:
Well, what's that, then?

BLACK KNIGHT:
I've had worse.

ARTHUR:
You liar!

BLACK KNIGHT:
Come on, you pansy!
[clang]
Huyah!
[clang]
Hiyaah!
[clang]
Aaaaaaaah!
[ARTHUR chops the BLACK KNIGHT's right arm off]

ARTHUR:
Victory is mine!
[kneeling]
We thank Thee Lord, that in Thy mer--

BLACK KNIGHT:
Hah!
[kick]
Come on, then.

ARTHUR:
What?

BLACK KNIGHT:
Have at you!
[kick]

ARTHUR:
Eh. You are indeed brave, Sir Knight, but the fight is mine.

BLACK KNIGHT:
Oh, had enough, eh?

ARTHUR:
Look, you stupid *******. You've got no arms left.

BLACK KNIGHT:
Yes, I have.

ARTHUR:
Look!

BLACK KNIGHT:
Just a flesh wound.
[kick]

ARTHUR:
Look, stop that.

BLACK KNIGHT:
Chicken!
[kick]
Chickennn!

ARTHUR:
Look, I'll have your leg.
[kick]
Right!
[whop]
[ARTHUR chops the BLACK KNIGHT's right leg off]

BLACK KNIGHT:
Right. I'll do you for that!

ARTHUR:
You'll what?

BLACK KNIGHT:
Come here!

ARTHUR:
What are you going to do, bleed on me?

BLACK KNIGHT:
I'm invincible!

ARTHUR:
You're a looney.

BLACK KNIGHT:
The Black Knight always triumphs! Have at you! Come on, then.
[whop]
[ARTHUR chops the BLACK KNIGHT's last leg off]

BLACK KNIGHT:
Oh? All right, we'll call it a draw.

ARTHUR:
Come, Patsy.

BLACK KNIGHT:
Oh. Oh, I see. Running away, eh? You yellow ********! Come back here and take what's coming to you. I'll bite your legs off!

Peja only really fit with Webber, Divac, and Christie. Without the brains and passing abilities those guys had he's not as good. Plus this team needs a guy who plays D well at one of the swing positions. Face it man this teams had 40 games they don't fit together. We have no D, we're defensless. We have nobody in the regular starting lineup that penetrates besides bibby every now and then. When Peja's not hitting his shots he's useless. We get lit up by the star wing players every game. He can't rebound either and we have nobody to take some pressure off mike when he's handling the ball. Like even Phoenix needs someone to take some pressure off Nash, last year they had Joe Johnson this year Diaw is doing some of it(I think so anyways). I mean really, besides his jumpshot peja brings nothing and when it's not hitting he's not doing anything.

and yet he outrebounded Brad yet again. Oh and everyone else is such a good defender so that Pedja really stands out.

Good one VF. :D I was actually just trying to state the facts, not excuse anything. Our real excuse is we just aren't a good team. I was thinking this must be hard for Mike, Brad and Pedja. Not only did they lose teammates they really loved, they are left to discover anew every game, that they just aren't anywhere near as good without those long gone pieces. As are we.
