[Game] Kings @ Clippers - 12/1/12

Exactly. And, more importantly in my eyes, he is totally ignoring the work of CrownDowntown (formerly #FANS). Mike and his group have gone way beyond the call of duty for a long time and to my knowledge they have not gotten any kind of recognition from Dave. That's not right.

Speaking of Mike, did I hear a shoutout on the radio from G-Man?

Here is a great stat:

Our starting guards have a logged a total of 122 minutes in the last 2 games and have a grand total of 5 assists. That is about 1 assist every 25 minutes - LOL.

Maybe he'll surprise us all and go with the truth

"Honestly, I'm completely over my head and really should be an assistant but I happen to work for cheap owners that don't want to pay another coach and kind of benefit from us having a bad season. So, looks like we'll just keep taking a dump on the fans that have supported this team for years. Any other questions."

That would be awesome

I'm so glad you volunteered. I can only get through the pressers if I turn down the volume and make up my own comments.

It's easy because you know what he's going to say anyway. It's just he talks so dang fast.

Clippers were incredible. Qw had turnovers and didn't have what it takes. we couldn't even compete. Especially he was upset about the first 5 minutes.

Short term. To close out the season and hire a real coach.
That's EXACTLY the same situation the Kings were in LAST season!!!!

Yet they hired Smart, got him to bamboozle the fanbase for a couple months, and then gave him extension after extension, and now we're in the same exact place we were last year, except with the clock ticking and the window of improvement getting smaller and smaller, and less roster flexibility.

I see no way out of this situation, sadly.

His point is these efforts and even a bump in attendance have no impact upon owners, who have made up their minds that they are moving but not selling.

He doesn't believe the votes of the others owners are there to block a move.

Dave like Grant hoped the team could jump out to a great start and draw enough fans to perhaps delay the Maloofs. And it's gone way the other way. The team is a mess and has already tuned out the coach and mailed in.

Kings didn't come ready to play. It's difficult for him to chose IT or Fredette. He's trying to get them to play like pros.

^^^

That makes no sense. Get them to play like pros? Start by giving them a professional role and a professional sub pattern.

Hogwash.

The #FANS group has earned the respect of Kevin Johnson and the city council, a lot of folks in the NBA and local businesses. To ignore them because he thinks they have no impact on the owners is just flat out wrong.

Well, after all they haven't even played a full year in the NBA. Hell, I don't know what he meant. :)

the first question they always ask is about the other team, how about the burning topics concerning our own team? we already know how good CP3 and Blake are we dont need smart to tell us that.

Okay, I just backed up my TV and recorded the entire presser. I will TRY - big emphasis on the idea of the attempt - to transcribe it for everyone who did not get it. I may have to get drunk first.

He actually seemed more at a loss for words than usual. I was surprised that he said he wouldn't give up as he wasn't asked if he would give up. To me that means he's having some doubts that he might be around and, I hope, even wondering if he is in over his head.
