[Game] Kings @ Clippers, 11/23/13

I think it's time to start Isaiah, he just makes this team better and its not like his scoring brings down some of our other guys, this team needs Cousins and Isaiah to score big. Let Vasquez man the second unit where we can use his pick and roll play to get better shots, and he is not facing the elite guards all the time.
Vasquez is next to useless, you have to have someone who at the point of attack can put pressure on and he can't do it at either end, Tony Doulgas have far more impact on the game than he ever will.

Forget about the wins or losses. It's minimal at best right now. Forget about the officiating also.

What's important, and Malone and Vivek know full well, is the effort being given on the floor and style of play. Leading to...a change in 'culture'.

Our franchise is moving in the right direction...all the way down to Kayte Christenson over a joker like Jim Gray ;)

in an unrelated to the game note. i heard from someone who works with the team that Marcus Thornton called coach some names after the last game he played in...... hasn't played since.....

Blake gets credit for a rebound on that last play with oo.1 'seconds' left in the game and Cousins had an obvious one taken away halfway through while I was literally staring at the box score.

Yahoo is going to turn me into some conspiracy theorist weirdo.

He is not useless, he is just player that only excels in the pick and roll and in an up and down team where he can pick out shooters or cutters. Our first unit strategy is primarily to find Cousins in the post, it would be more beneficial to start Isaiah so that we aren't so one dimensional, Cousins pounding down low, and Isaiah attacking from the perimeter. That would probably mean starting Patterson again so that driving lanes are more open for Isaiah. JT and Vasquez do seem to have a good chemistry when running the pick and roll also. Plus starting Luc alleviates some of the rebounding we lose from Patterson.

PG: Isaiah
SG: Mc Lemore
SF: Luc Mbah
PF: Patterson
C: Cousins

second unit

Vasquez
Jimmer/Thornton
Salmons
Outlaw/JT
JT/Hayes

We lost the game imo (other than the bs officals) when they threw LRMAM out for a foul which never existed, he slowed Cp3 and Cp3 only made like one bs 3 with him on him. Some awful calls but the effort from Cuz, Patterson, IT and our two big SF's was fantastic last year in a game like that we got blown out by 30

No. God no. Thomas is a great 6th man, people; quit trying to make him a starter.
Yeah. Malone has IT where IT should be.

You just want more consistency out of Vasquez. Some nights he runs the team great and it's an obvious plus with him out there. Other nights, he's just ineffective.

Great game against a very good team. With the refs we got some and we lost some, about as even as you can get. cP3 didn't dominate us but he beat us. Don't change anything. Malone finally switched Salmons to his natural position and it almost paid off.

Just as an addiitonal note to Cousins pulling IT away: I'm pretty sure DeAndre pulled Paul away while he was trying to help IT up from the floor earlier in the game. I imagine that influenced Cousins perhaps returning the favor.

Why would they play in the afternoon during football season. I am pissed. This is first game I've missed in like 6 years

Why would they play in the afternoon during football season.
... Because everybody doesn't watch football? :D

Non-smartass answer: because the primary tenants of the building (the Los Angeles Kings) have a home game scheduled for this evening.

so what if we use Salmons as the backup 2 behind Ben, and Outlaw at the backup 3 behind Luc?

This sounds like a good idea. Thornton's welcome seems to have been worn out. He will get his $8 mil this year and still give all possible signs that he doesn't give a crap about the Kings or maybe simply playing basketball. I wish we could get a refund. Jimmer is proving maybe even to his own fans that he just can't hack it. Salmons is a natural SG and for once he may be useful. It may ruin the fans need to pick on him as a SF but playing him at the SG will benefit the Kings. The SF position is well manned by Mbah a Moute and Outlaw. That seems to be the evolving truth as Malone finds out who will play his brand of ball.

As to the desire of some to start IT, the PG position seems to be working as it is. Vasquez needs to play unless McCallum bursts out in a way that I doubt could be predicted. Vasquez will be more useful with slower opposing PGs so let's not make a season changing decision right now.

"The only thing they could get was a jump shot," Jordan said. "I was just praying they didn't call a foul. They gave me a block? That's awesome, I'll take it." - ESPN
