[Game] Kings at Lakers 3/2/12

Funny that! I thought 6'6 C and equally tall PF is the way to win! ;)

Every time we come up against tall frontline I want to pull my hair our and I get depressed how we have managed to blow up our strengths from last year in a single, shortened off-season!
Get outta here with your Chuck Hayes hate. He's far from our problem

Dallembert sucks. We're way better off playing the small ball style that has won nothing in the history of the NBA than the style we were playing at the end of last year where we were starting to simply overpower opponents at every position. Duh

It isn't Hayes's fault, and I don't think he stated as much. We had a roster with size, and can put up a decent five with size RIGHT NOW if we want to.

I think the Lakers are much more beatable than the Clippers. We just have to manage it properly to maximize our chances.

Bite me!

Hayes is not the problem IN ADDITION to what we had and NOT as a replacement! When you replace length in the frontcourt with a midget C/PF the results are pretty much what we are seeing now!

SIZE MATTERS!!!

People are acting like we're getting blown out by 20 right now. Yes, the defense is awful right now, but we're well within distance to win this game if we tighten up the D even just a little bit

Oh right, I forgot how much better we were last season.

Oh wait

small ball

Smart could be Don's twin, but it is too early to tell.

Here is the list of players over 6'7" King have:

Rotational players:
6'11" Cousins (constant foul troublitis)
6'11" Thompson
6'11" Green (not PF nor C)
6'9" Hickson (Injured)

"Do you really want them except in garbage time" players (for now)
Whiteside, Honeycutt, Outlaw

I see only 2 tall players that can naturally play PF/C for Kings right now total.
Until kids mature or we acquire someone - smallball is painful future.

I am pretty sure we played a heck of a lot better with a healthy Dalembert and Thornton on board that we are now and we certainly played a heck of a lot better against the Lakers than we are now....funny that.

And Lakers are cursing..they have another 2 gears to go while we are struggling in a major way. If you like mediocrity go right ahead but I prefer to win.

If you recall, most of that was without tyreke

Hall of Famer
Seems to me, and it's only part of the issue tonight, but MT and Reke appeared to be fired up and ready to go in the 1st. Both were playing pretty well. But after Smart sat them for 45-60 mins(entire 2nd+TO's,deadballs+halftime) it seemed the fire and intensity was gone after half. MT was hot to start and we didn't take advantage of it.

Everyone who's played sports knows you go cold and lose your rhythm after sitting so long. Seems all rhythm from those two was completely lost when the 2nd half started. Doesn't change the outcome, but doesn't help either.

Garcia and Salmons played really well though in that stint. The most concerning problem is a lack of defensive effort. We leave wide open 3 pt shooters, don't get back on D all the time, and overall just look lethargic on that end of the court.
