Back in February it was announced the D-League will put a team in Reno to play this winter. A month ago or so it was announced that the Kings and the Knicks would be the two affiliates for that D-League team. I keep hearing wishes or desires that the D-League become like the AAA farm teams for major league baseball, one AAA for each MLB team.
Might be doable in couple of years but what a place to build talent or to find out if your draft choices have the talent to get up to the NBA. It would be a level above Summer League. Right now an NBA team can assign a guy to D-League only 3 times a year if the bring him up to the NBA level and send him back.
The wondering in this thread is who from Summer League would the Kings contribute to the Reno team? If they get 6 of the 12 spots I see Ewing, Hawkins, Malone, McCalebb and maybe Townes, who at 6-10 and 250 was a very active big body in the minutes he played on Wednesday.
