Kings 30 Year Commemoration Logos

Apologies if this has already been posted, didn't see a thread up.

Anyways, here are two new potential logos to commemorate 30 years in Sac:

I personally like the one on the left, but they're both pretty cool!

I like the one on the right if they ditch the cliche "Est. 1985" tag and just stick with the 30 that incorporates the original basketball crown logo. It's simple and gets the point across.

Now that I think about it I'd really prefer one with the jousting logo, since it's the only one that belongs exclusively to Sacramento and the one that happened to belong to those guys <---- over there.

To clarify, this isn't a redo of the main logo. This is a commemorative logo that will be used for the opening night pins, advertising, etc.

I voted for the one on the left. Sorry, I liked the one on the right until I read that it was supposed to commemorate 30 years. I didn't even realize that was supposed to be a "30" on the right until I read that. After that, I just couldn't vote for it. Not truly a huge fan of either.

I'd love to see one that incorporates a bit of Sacramento, like the Capitol Building or Tower Bridge. I tried putting something together but I unfortunately lack the shop skills

Long time Kings fan here and, at one time, was a season ticket holder at the original Arco Arena! Back then everything related to the Kings was baby blue and red, like these 30 year anniversary logos (btw, I prefer the one on the left).

Please forgive me for hijacking this tread with my question, but does anyone know when and why the Kings adopted the purple and black colors? (I would probably have preferred a logo in purple and black but the blue and red are more appropriate as an anniversary color scheme - these are the official Sacto Kings founding colors!).

The 25 year anniversary logo did that. They had the capitol, the bridge and a couple downtown buildings.

Don't know why they went with purple, black and silver. I can say that purple is a total color. Natural deep purple dye came from a certain kind of ocean mollusk and it took a lot of them. Hence, it was extremely costly.

IIRC, purple went along with the new primary logo (both being introduced at the end of the 93/94 season). The whole theme became royal in nature.
