Now that Spring has arrived in Portland kickball is back after hibernating all winter. And since I finally replaced my stolen camera gear its been a great way to get out on a sunny day and practice one of my hobbies. I thought I'd share some pics from last Sunday's games with everyone.

Heh -- I haven't played kickball since gradeschool -- don't even remember the rules. Something like softball I seem to recall?

Too bad too, I had a big leg and was something of a star back in the day. ;)


P.S. BTW, I'd like to discuss those pink socks... ;)
 
It is pretty much baseball/softball rules with a big red ball that you kick. But would you believe that all the competitive teams turn the game into bunt fests and only kick away when the bases are full? We have a player on our team who has actually bunted several home runs although we prefer to kick away during the regular season.

Those pink socks wouldn't even land him in the best/worst dressed category if you scan through some of the other pics in the whole gallery. I actually play first and my team wears the same color shirt but I prefer my socks to be white.
 
Portland is so nice, i was just up there last week visiting my sister, i was shocked at how green everything is, simply amazing.
 
Great photos, thanks for sharing. Kickball was definitely one of my favorites as a kid. Long ago! :)

That was my first reaction when I came here for the first time. You picked a good week to come, this week we had marble sized hail on Wednesday and lots of rain in 10-15 minute intervals with sun in between. Although this weekend is supposed to be gorgeous again.

I have a couple dodgeball games tomorrow and will try shooting that if I don't get the urge to play outside in the sun (or if the weathermen lied).
