When have the Kings ever done a deal that has been hotly discussed? Every single deal they've ever done has come by surprise..., and I'm not exaggerating. Every single one. Even Artest for Peja (everyone thought the deal was dead). So, if we know what's good for us, we'll be quiet.

I think it is pretty well documented that Artest does not like sharing the leadership mantle. How much difference is their between O'Neal and KG? How did the supersweet combo of O'Neal and Artest work out? Come to think of it, there is a big difference between JO and KG; KG is even more of a screamer and a grandstander. I think that would mesh well with Artest's approach.

But, I've said this all before, and you guys have ripped me before. Looks like we'll finally get to see who's right. My prediction: this looks like the deal of the millenium for the first four months, and then the wheels fall off shortly after the All-Star Break. I really don't like giving up Bibby either.

I am with you on KG "hate". It's pretty much a two member club so far (KG haters club - Venom and Bozzwell only), but I'd still go get KG. In fact I would give anything for KG. The only deal that I would have to think about is if Minny wants Artest as well (then I'd have to think about it but if we get to keep Bibby I'd go for it).

Here is my reasoning: KG is a flowed genius/superstar but he is still geniue/superstar. Elite 5 player so far and probably for few more years to come. Suddenly, we are a contender. We've all seen what KG can do on good teams with leadership.

As for KG-Artest combustion potential: there are some similarities (to Artest-JO) but there are many reasons why KG-Artest would work:
- KG would be incoming player not Artest. Artest has estabilished himself as a leader and a fan favorite. There is nothing but love for Ron Ron in Sacramento.
- Unlike JO, KG is not often injured and does not miss time. As we all know, when superstars/leaders come back from injuries there is potential for conflict inherent in the process of returning leader/superstar re-estabilishing themselves.
- If Ron Ron will ever blow up again, he will blow up KG or no KG.
- KG as a screamer/overbearing leader: It took him years to become the ****** that he is in a very, very frustrating situation (Minny). Maybe change of scenery would bring on change of attitude (for a while at least).
- Alphabetically Artest comes before Garnett, SF's are listed before PF's, ROn Ron is a cult figure not just a basketball player, etc...

KG is a walking double double and potential triple double everynight.
I would do it in a heartbeat! Chemistry issues aside, I believe Ron would get along -- they both are passionate about WINNING, something I can't say for some members of the Kings.

The issue about who'll be the leader is a moot point because when the Twolves went to the WCF a few years ago, everyone knew the real leader of that team was Sam Cassell...and KG defered to him a lot of the time. I don't think KG would have any issue with ROn being the "leader' of the team.

Remember, we still have Chris Webber's contract on the team. It now just produces like garbage. If the Kings could get KG for the trade package mentioned or something pretty close to that its a no-brainer. Artest+Garnett+Bibby or Bonzi+KMart+SAR+Decent Center = About a 3+ year window where we'd be championship contenders. I don't see that in our future right now unless we score big on a draft pick or maybe KMart turns into a top-20 player.

The problem is that this rumor is very unlikely. Its fun though

No, the Maloofs/Petrie got rid of Webber's salary because he was a greatly declining talent and an oft injured player who had a huge contract for several more seasons. As of today, Garnett only has 3 years left on his deal, while Kenny and Brad both have 4 years left on their deal. So we would be acquiring a healthy superstar during his peak seasons who has no significant injury history and three years left on his contract.

Yes but lets think about who was coaching KG when he went to the playoffs....the same guy who inherited a championship team and almost got beat by the Cavs. Flip is an offensive coach and not a defensive one. Not only can KG score but I think he still has some great defensive years ahead. He might be a perfect fit for our guys. Not to mention what a world of good it will do him to get out of Minnesota and come to California.

kg a king? there is no feasible scenario in which i say no to garnett. it'd be nice to get him with one or two solid pieces remaining to establish a core. preferably, i'd like that core to be bibby, artest, and garnett...with kevin martin also starting and prepped to become a real part of the core as he continues to improve. still need a center and backup center, given that we trade brad miller for kg...and its hard to come by two centers in the same offseason. as many have said, pryzbilla would be an ideal signing. with brad, it wouldn't work, because then you've just got two slow-footed white guys. trade brad and throw kg into the mix, and all of a sudden pryzbilla looks like the answer to our roster hole. and there's no way he says no to a team with kg if the money is also there. so:

what does this do for the wolves and why would they possibly do it?

it gives them a legitimate starting line up that can play and dump one of their large bad contracts. they still have their lottery pick and could possibly fill their SF void with it. all of a sudden their a play off contender again.

what does this do for the kings? it gives them a legitimate superstar that can go off for a triple double on any given night and get rid of our defensive liabilities.

haha, mchale wouldn't do this but its a realistic trade. i'm not going off saying lets give KT, 19th pick and brad for KG. any GM would laugh at those ridiculously lopsided trade offers. if orlando traded for francis, mobley and cato for mcgrady... also look what they got for shaq.

- McHale is looking BAD as the General Manager, and wants to win ASAP so he isn't fired. Why trade KG for parts that might be better in 2-4 years when there could be a different GM? He will want to go for a trade that will make the Wolves better NOW so that he can redeem himself.

- If they alter the trade (and they will have to for the salaries to work), the TWolves can get rid of their bad contracts (Blount, Hudson, Jaric) for expiring contracts from the Kings (Corliss, Vitaly, and Hart).

- This news is coming from Jonathan Givony, who is the president and founder of DraftExpress. The guy rarely makes trade rumors, as he is a draft expert. Why would he make a trade rumor if drafting is his specialty, and why would he risk his credibility as the president of DraftExpress?

If you look into this, it actually can make A LOT of sense for both teams. Kings become a contender, and the TWolves have a chance for a brighter future by unloading contracts and receiving three legitimate starters.
