KF "Official" 2008 NBA Draft selection thread

JJ Hickson to Cleveland is going to help them, I saw him play in person three times this year and that guy is very strong and can slam the ball hard like its nothing

Arthur, Koufos, and the big french kid are still out there. I wonder if we could make a play for any of these picks? Please? Make it a two big draft day and I will be happy and say nice things Geoff....

Agreed. Although with another pick I'd want Batum. I'd settle for Ajinca or Arthur, though.

Not getting my hopes up. It just won't happen...

Oh, well there goes Ajinca. Good pick by Cha. Very impressive draft for them, Augustin and Ajinca. That's what being agressive does for you.

There's also some pretty serious bust potential there. MJ's track record doesn't really suggest it's going to turn out well.

No, but regardless of record he's got two good prospects. Ajinca won't be ready for at least 3-4 years, but he's a good athlete and highly skilled. Just extremely weak at the moment.

What did NJN trade to get Dallas' pick?

Gotta feel for Arthur. Really feel sorry for him. You can tell he's not happy. Who would be? Hope for his sake he gets picked soon. He's a good prospect, too.

Ajinca is 20 years old and averaged 5 ppg in France. In the history of the NBA Draft, has there ever been a player that averaged 5 ppg or less who turned into a decent player?

Kosta Koufos at #23... which doesn't surprise me that much. That was one where I thought Draft Express was just plain wrong, #11 seemed too high.

He played in a professional MENS league. It was not college, these were full grown men. College is made for young men, professional leagues are not. Far heavier, far stronger. The French league is pretty good. Say what you like, but I certainly wouldn't bet against Ajinca. He'd have started for most college teams.

Gotta figure Houston will put Arthur out of his misery here.

And then -- PETRIE: go get Batum or CDR with the Spurs' #26. Backup swing man for when we trade Artest. It would be worth it.
