Keon Ellis

Makes sense it’s a loser franchise and players can’t expect them to respond well to a championship coach

Remind everyone again, how many championships has Mike Brown been a part of as a head coach?

You really need to find another hobby. Something you’re actually knowledgeable about and/or adept at.

He’s a four time nba champion , two time coach of the year, beloved by career winning players and champions like lebron and CP3. But ya you’re right the kings and Sabonis know how to win more than him. He was the associate head coach in GSW so he has three championships as an associate head coach

LeBron and Kobe both got Brown fired but loved him later. Sounds kind of familiar.

I don't buy for a minute that this was Domas's doing when its Fox's wife leaking everything to the radio and twitter influencers trying to make her husband look clean in all of this. He got what he wanted, hope he has a nice life, but until I actually see Domas quit on this team I am not going to slander him.

So…Keon Ellis, huh?
Dude should have signed his extension by now but as usual gets overlooked like here in this thread. If we leave him to reach RFA UFA status, he is as good as gone.

EDIT: He is UFA, not RFA at the end of the season.

All indications are they will sign a good extension. The relationship with the agent is good.

You guys are being so dramatic. I guess it tracks—ESPN and the national media have already managed to reframe it from “the pursuit of perfection in human physicality” into “pro wrestling for guys who don’t want to watch the big buff athletes’ stage show.”

We used to find our drama in between MJ playing through a broken foot and the strategy of Rudy T.

Unless that strange response from Keith Smith is somehow correct, Keon can't sign an extension until February (two-year anniversary of the original deal being signed).
Yes, he can be extended only from Feb 9, 2026. A lot of things can change by that time. Hope we quickly sign him before the end of season.

I'm not trying to be dramatic. I'm merely defending the guy who has busted his ass for us and by all accounts wants to be here. Another player no longer on the team seemed to have his people go out of their way to point the finger at Domas as a malcontent to distract from their own actions and I'm not going to have it.

Former Alabama guard working to continue NBA ascent...

This part is already showing very noticeably......During the offseason, Ellis said, he worked on “my shooting off the dribble just because, I mean ‚catch-and-shoot, that’s, like, not a problem. So I think now, like, in transition or if I come off a screen, like, you know most nights I probably have, like, the other team’s (offensive) star on me, so being like a real threat and making them not have, like, a possession off, if you will. I think that could be good.”

I counted six "likes" in that response. woof woof

All I'm saying is we better have a handshake deal in place for him. Its absolutely criminal to let a player of Keons caliber RFA rights fall off otherwise

Yeah, trading Carter and allowing Ellis to walk would be the kind of actual malpractice that the talking heads sometimes over-diagnose when discussing the Kings. Just poor asset management and an utter lack of imagination to not see the value of those guys relative to the kind of "culture" you claim to want to build here. I'm not inclined to give Scott Perry a ton of credit to this point, but I'm really hoping he's not an absolute moron.

Yeah, we've heard all off-season about how we want to be a defense first, tough hard based organization.

And our actions seemingly have been to push out Carter, who fits that description to a T and make Keon a UFA, who's the best defender on the team.

Not great

At the same time, Keon’s agent got Dennis paid for the next three seasons, got Keegan a 5 year deal with no team option, and got us to give McBuckets a roster spot/the Udonis Haslem special so it’s fair to say that he and Scott must like working together.
