Kenny Thomas... a real pro

Just wanted to give props to KT. The guy plays here and there, no real steady minutes. Sits a game, then the first half of the next game and is asked to come in and make a difference. he does.

When he plays he is productive, and being productive most NBA players would expect steady minutes, and when they dont get those minutes they would be bitc.... to the media about lack of minutes and how they dont get the coach.

KT just goes about his business and does what he is asked. A real PRO.

Was at the game last night and he got a really nice ovation when he came into the game.

I heard that ovation on TV....but couldn't tell if it was props to Thomas or sarcastic cheers for Mays leaving the game. He had an AWFUL stretch when he was in there.

I personally feel that Kenny Thomas was the difference maker in the game last night. You know, Thomas truly is a different guy this year. Did you see his interview last night? I have to give coach Westphal a lot of the credit for helping Thomas to feel like he's part of the team again. I am so excited about our future, especially now that we have a REAL coach!!!

Arco thunder,

I agree completely. You know that the previous coaches likely made KT feel like a stepchild.

Westphal has done a great job managing players up to this point......... well up to last night when for some crazy reason he thought Mays should get minutes:)

*cough* contract year *cough*

Just playin...

I was always a KT apologist.

Dude got a lot of **** for his poutyness (granted much was deserved) but whenever he got floor time he hussled way more than SAR or Miller ever did.

Props to KT for bringin the beastly.

Why does everyone say Sean mays? Or mays? It's Sean May! Or am I being the idiot!? ;)

Well! You may be an idiot, but your right about it being Sean May. Or as the patient at the insane asylum said. " I may be crazy, but I'm not stupid":D

Well Kenny Thomas's only crime is that he was not/is not CWebb.

No, he was also selfish, grumpy, and with an inflated opinion of hiiself when he showed up. Amazing how three years in exile have brought about a character transformation however. At this point he's innocuous enough and just a guy doing his best.

his best was 7pts 2reb. I'd love for JT or Greene to get those 15 min if only the fouls didn't pile up on JT.

yeah, its been a while so maybe some of us have forgotten how much of a pest he was.. especially with that contract of his...

I still don't like my ex-wife. And she had a dousey of a contract too. ;)

it wasnt a minimum of 7 million a year to sit on her *** all year was it? if it was then you are a straight baller...:D

ballin'.....

I guess I'm in the position of defending KT. What the heck:)

I remember KT playing pretty well immediately after the CWebb trade for movable pieces. When SAR was brought in his attitude did sour. I remember he could not produce off the bench. As a starter up until then he had been OK. When it became obvious SAR was the prefered PF, KT could not make a lay up to save his life. So he sat on the bench and frowned. In Philly he had been a 10/10 guy in 03/04. From 01/02 until 05/06 he averaged around 10 and 8 in 30 minutes a game. He was a tough under sized PF that Philly had over paid. CWebb was one of the most gifted Bigs ever and KT was a journeyman.

K9 or KT is a real pro. How many ever, at any salary, have been relegated to the far end of the bench for 3 years and not made a peep, media comments or problems in the locker room? None I can think of. Yet he has been a mentor to the "kids" and helped them big time (from the many small comments in the media over the past year or so). Yet he comes in and plays with hustle, gets rebounds at a 20+ rate based on 48 min and defends a bit better than any of our current bigs.

My hat is off to KT/K9 big time for being a real pro on a really poor team, up to this season anyway. He is a commendable journeyman NBA player. Does his job, doesn't complain, and helps others.

Thanks Kenny. Glad to have you onboard as our first Lobo. :D
