I didnt catch when but as a part of KCRAs Decision 2007, They will have debate with both sides of the issue live in front of a studio audience.

Hmm.... I wonder if Dave Jones will come out of his bunker for this.;)

Although I missed the first 15 minutes, I felt that the "debate" did nothing to change votes in either direction. Pretty much a draw.

The format sucked, in that there was no real debate and most of the key issues did not get discussed in exchange, and Jones kept spewing the same mantra every time he got the chance to speak, including his closing.

If Dickinson were given the chance to "engage" Jones, he would take him down on every issue (except the current uncertainty about the final deal with the Maloofs...a big issue indeed), no doubt in my mind. But the participants were not allowed to truly debate.

The on-line poll by KCRA showed up at 37% FOR and 61% AGAINST when they went off the air.

What bugs me most about Jones, is he talks about all the other things needing to be fixed in Sacramento that are more important. So what the he** did he do to help any of those things when he was a city council member? Believe me, he's campaigning for himself here. Get himself some cheap publicity.

Again, had Dickinson been allowed to engage Jones, the issues that lingered before this (and now still do) would have been addressed.

The part that bugs me is the fact that the "No" folks never answered the question put to them. Open a mouth, say how bad the Maloofs are for wanting public assistance for an arena, and go to the next question. I'd love to be a moderator for this thing and make sure they actually answered the question asked of them....

No real debate...no resolution of issues for the public.

Once again, like it's been all along, the public was left to make a choice of whom they believe, rather than which position is supported by the issues.

I watched that this morning... well I am mixed.

I thought the PRO side answered that first question horribly. They could of killed on that question and looking at it objectively the NAY side had a better reply.

Second question, when Dickinson answered, he was awesome. A plus for the PRO side.

I don't think KCRA posts entire shows, unfortunately. I would like to see the entire thing and kind of rank it objectively question by question.

I caught the first 10 minutes. I see the milk lady made it on stage again. She just doesn't seem to understand that if a poor person will have 2-3 dollars make a difference every month, they would have had to spend $1000 on taxable items to have paid out a few bucks. So my answer to her would be to stop spending so much money on the wrong things if a gallon of milk is a make or break.
And newsflash from Marcie Launy on the Maloofs. She says the Kings will stay and she heard them say it yesterday. She may have been the only one though. Then she turns right around and says we won't miss them if they go - okie dokie.

I was very impressed with Julius Cherry. he was by far the most articulate, well thought out person on the panel. I thought the "Yes" folks handled themselves very well in spite of the obvious "elephant in the room".......THE MALOOFS.

When asked "where are the Maloofs and are they on board, Chief Cherry said, "The Maloofs are businessmen and they are trying to get the best deal possible". I thought that was brillant.

Dave Jones  What can I say about that politician. I can't even bring myself to call him a community person. He is like a doggone robot. I was impressed with the CSUS educator. She was strong. And did you see the look on the "milklady" face when Julius Cherry told her to stop the grandstanding.
