Jordan Hill

if the kings are willing to take on some salary, the kings can get a valuable young big man... jordan hill is a young big (6'10" 240lbs) and athletic and good rebounder... suggested on espn....

if the kings are willing to take on jared jeffreies remaining salary of 6.5 million next year.... the kings can trade kenny thomas and sean may (expiring contracts) for jordan hill, jared jeffries, and $3 million in cash...

why the kings do it... they get a potential 3rd big to add too JT and hawes rotation... jeffries is a good role player, defender and can play the PF and SF.... the kings really only spends about 3 million on him because of the cash and savings from trading sean mays contract offsets the 2010 salary....

why the knicks do it... they get two expiring contracts to get them 10 miliion more below the cap to sign lebron and bosh or d.wade

kings future line up....

PF JORDAN HILL BROCKMAN JEFFREIES
SF OMRI CASPI GREENE NOCIONI
C JASON THOMPSON HAWES
SG KEVIN MARTIN GARCIA
PG TYREKE EVANS UDRICH RODRIGUEZ

He really looked lost on the court when the Knicks played at Arco. I am a big UA hoops fan and would like good things for Hill and think the Knicks are a bad fit for him but he's not worth Kenny's expiring at this point.

Agreed, he's not worth two expirings and making us take an additional year of salary

Pass on Hill. He's not exactly young for a rookie. He's so lost the Knics are thinking of sending him to the D-League. In the spirit of the holiday season, let's just say he would be like getting a lump of coal in your stocking. Definitley not worth our expirings or taking on future salary.

Galanari would be a different story.

Haven't watched him much but in his defense. Everybody on that franchise is lost and has been for a while. Don't blame it on the individual that franchise is a cancer.

Not sure I fully agree with this. D' Antoni has been a good coach with mediocre talent, but seems to have gotten the most out of Duhon, David Lee, Chandler, Hughes, etc. Shoot, he made Nate Rob a top 50 (fantasy) player last season before they became at odds. Even Gallanari seems to have developed well under him so far. The franchise might still be getting out of the mess that Layden and Thomas made, but Hill has a good coach and solid NBA system. I just don't think he is very good and while he will likely improve, I see him as having low upside.

I agree with you to a certain extent. I don't think the knicks system is for everyone and I don't think Hill fits the mold of what they need. I always looked at them picking Jordan Hill as a desperation pick wanting talent but the talent they were actually after was already off the board or they were unable to get Rubio through trades...

I wouldn't mind Hill on the Kings, but not at the cost of taking an extra years salary and dumping two EC's for it..

I've seen Hill play a lot in college. I used to make the comparison between him and Thabeet as far as their learning curve went. Both only played 5 years of organized basketball prior to coming into the NBA. So both were behind the curve. But between the two of them, Hill was definitely in the lead. He improved every year he was at Arizona. However, that didn't make him NBA ready.

I like Hill and I think he has a lot of upside, but its not going to happen tomorrow or the next day. He's a couple of years away. And he may be worth the wait, but he's not worth that price. Now if they want to trade him straight across for May, I'm on board. But there's no way in hell he's ready to start at PF right now. He's still learning the game..

it is actually one expiring contract (KT), the other Sean May, would be a bonus for us to get rid of his contract.... money wise, we would basically be taking a flyer on a big man (6'10" Jordan Hill) with some upside for 3 million dollars....

Jeffries would be a 6.5 million expiring for us in 2011, when the kings would be in a better position to spend money in free agency and compete for a higher playoff spot.... i still think the maloofs are not ready to spend big on any contract or free agent until attendance picks up and they get an arena approved... hopefully alot of this will be resolved by 2011 FA season....

by then jordan hill should be contributing... at the very least, i think he could become a 3rd big in the chris wilcox mode... he could back up at PF and some Center in the future....

depends what else is out there..... but if we get close to the trade deadline and there arent other options I think it's worth it. We won't have the money this offseason to bring anyone in who would really crack our rotation, and a chance to get a lottery pick player for pretty much nothing is tempting.

It's not a bad deal but you have to see what other options are out there for the Thomas expiring. If you can get a legit big like Okafor, or package KT for the Knicks pick with Utah I prefer those options.

No thanks. KT is our most valuable trading block. Making a trade where we'd assume Jefferies ridiculous contract and get a big man who really hasn't shown much w/ another $2.7mil left on his contract, would be a step backwards imho. at this point Hill would have be to considered a bust and an albutross rather than an asset. W/o their first round pick this year, there's nothing they could offer to make me assume Jefferies' salary.

Sean May is an expiring contract this year. We signed him to a 1 year deal only and I don't even think it's guaranteed, but he makes so little we can cut him at any point if it wasn't...

Please! No player in his first season in the NBA having played 20 some odd games can be considered a bust. I have no problem with aquiring Hill, but I do have a problem with taking on Jefferies contract. Yes, Hill would be a project, but he wouldn't be an albatross, he would be an investment for the future.. I agree that I wouldn't give up KT's contract to get him.

I'm afraid that it is guaranteed. But your right, it doesn't amount to much. I believe the only nonguaranteed contract on the team is Udoka's.
