Jason Williams?? I'm confused.

I have to suspect that this is just an agent talking.

Jason Williams still a possibility?

I mean, who would start? and what happens to Singletery?

Well how many second rond draft picks make kings rosters and impact games? not often... but thats a moot point. J will would be a worthless signing. WE need to stop spending money period.

worthless? absolutely not. i would love to have jason back. backing up beno of course. could be the spark the kings need to bring the excitement back to sacramento. he's a great passer, a streaky shooter and he's a champion. if he's willing to take 3 million the deal would work

When you look at where Sacramento was before he got there and where they were four years later, a perennial playoff team. It was the same (thing) in Memphis, where the team had never done anything and then they're three years in the playoffs. He gets to Miami the first year and they won the championship.

Is he trying to say Jason Williams is part of the reason why Miami won the championship??

Well, he is. He had a great game in the clinching game of the East Finals, and played generally well as the starting point guard of a championship team.

He's not THE reason they won the championship, but he played a role and earned his ring. This isn't Mitch Richmond riding the bench for the Lakers in 2002, who only played four minutes throughout the playoffs (literally).

True.

On a side note, if I was a player and nearing the end of my career without ever winning a championship I would not do what Mitch did. I would rather not have a ring than to get on as an old beat up guy that can't even make it on the floor.

Jason Williams sucks. Get him away from sactown!

What's funny is he's the reason I became a kings fan in 99. But he's far from being the type of player he once was. His assets were excitement and running and amazing yet risky passes. He doesn't do that anymore so he's useless in my book.

didn't we just burn the entire MLE on beno?

There's not that much spark left in Jason Williams. His knees are shot and he's not the exciting player he was once upon a time.

We've been there, done that. I can't think of a good reason to bring him back, regardless of what some writer desperate for something new to talk about might think.

:)

It's true. I saw a fair amount of the Heat this season (mostly for Chris Quinn, an ND guy.) Rarely does he involve himself in the offense anymore. It's a dump down low and hover on the outside.

A: Yeah. We continue to talk to him. We're looking for a specific type of situation where Jason can help elevate a team to that next step. That's what he's been really good at. When you look at where Sacramento was before he got there and where they were four years later, a perennial playoff team. It was the same (thing) in Memphis, where the team had never done anything and then they're three years in the playoffs. He gets to Miami the first year and they won the championship. So he's looking for a very specific type of situation.

That's an absolutley ludicrous statement to be making at this point, for either JWill or us. I have not in the past entirely ruled out JWill passing through town to retire as a King in a platoon scenario, but if the above was the plan or any part of anybody's thinking, just go away. We have enough delusional people round these parts as is.

I like JDubb and would have loved to bring him back. But now that we resigned Beno there is just no reason for it but to waste money. Thanks for the memories JDubb, goodbye and good luck.

Could also be an agent trying to promote his client, and he found a friendly ear.

For me personaly, if I want to see J. Will play, I'll go to Youtube. As much as he was fun to watch, he's not worth the money now.

Why are fans annointing Sean Singeltary to anything besides camp invitee?! Delusional!

Sean Singletary hasn't proven he is ready for anything.

He got torched by CJ Watson. Yes, the one and only CJ Watson. He can't score. Never mind what the coaching staff says about him. Of course they are going to support and be in his corner, they drafted him!

If you can't score 10 points a game in summer league ball, you are lucky to get invited to a NBA training camp.

Now this guy has handles, plays under control, looks to make the smart safe play, quick feet, and picks up his man near half court line, I like all that (versus the out of control forays we used to see from Ronny Price), but this guy has a long, way to go.

He is ready to toss Cisco a towel and hand in a cup of gatorade on Cisco way in and out of the game, that's it. Rook should count his blessings if he makes the team, he is D-League material based on early returns.

I agree. I'd say SS is absolutely no guarantee based on what I've seen to make the opening day roster. Mainly it's his tiny size which makes him a huge defensive liability in the NBA. At this point, the other 2nd round pick #0 has zero chance. So maybe SS makes the roster buried on the bench as 12th man. More likely the Kings look for another experienced PG back up (signing or trade) to get into camp or waiving SS sometime during the season. As indicated, Cisco is always around to run the point in a pinch. I hate to be harsh in the assessment, but Sean (and certainly Pat, Jr) are not NBA ready at all.

Pretty much my point exactly. Beno does not have a lot of experience running the show, and we have no real veteran PG with experience. Williams was a starting PG on a championship team, and has been a real decent player when healthy over the past 7/8 years.

You're contradicting yourself. First you say people are delusional to show any interest in SS, then you remark that he has handles, plays under control, looks to make the smart safe play, has quick feet and picks up his man near half court.

I don't know what you're expecting from a mid-second round pick, but I think what he has is POTENTIAL and a lot of it. And that's more than Jason Williams has at this point in his career, which was - I believe - the whole topic under discussion to begin with.

That's the problem. He has a past that includes being a starting PG on a championship team, but those days are over. We're moving forward; bringing Jason Williams back to Sacramento wouldn't do anyone any good whatsoever.

In the words of the song, "but that was yesterday, and yesterday's gone."

I wouldn't mind having the other Williams (Louis) who is is a restricted free agent with the 76ers. I know the Warriors are pursuing him. Would be a solid back-up at PG on any NBA team. I would feel a lot better with Louis Williams (22 y.o. 6'2 175lb) over an untested Sean Singletary, especially if Beno Udrih went down with an injury during the season.

I seriously doubt if we're gonna see any more $$$ flowing out for free agents. Petrie is gonna do this his way and I suspect that means one more significant personnel move (everybody wave bye-bye to RonRon/BillBill) and then whatever juggling has to be done to fit the pieces into the existing roster ... and most likely leave one slot vacant as Petrie is wont to do.

My "longing for the old days" side of me would love to see J-Will back in Sac

HOWEVER,

my more logical side knows that signing him would almost border on the verge of pointless.
