Isaiah Thomas watch

IT IS gone and so why speak of it or IT? I finally came on here to see what news there was about how he is doing and guess what ..... there was none, just the same old arguments from old threads that I hought long dead.

Yes but isn't it great to have the discussion quarantined to a thread that can be easily avoided? I like that as it applies to IT and Tyreke and Jimmer. To me now those are just "guys on other teams" and I'm glad kf.com has dedicated threads for the "i told you so's" (positive or negative)

Very talented at getting his own shot, typical IT. Compare this short vid with how we moved the ball on Tuesday night. This vid was 1/3 of our offense last year. I'm shocked that Cuz didn't enjoy watching IT do this night after night.....;)

doing what he does best. where are all the former pizza guy backers now

Oh, I'm around. Just passing the time until the regular season starts. It's amusing to see all the "methinks ye protest too much" thank-God-Isaiah-Thomas-is-gone preseason crowd titillating each other. We'll see how the tale unfold during the regular season. Can't wait to see those perfectly fitted pieces fit together by PDA create a winning product on the floor.

I agree, but I think IT has nothing to do with us anymore. I'm glad this hasn't turned into STR where all they do is talk about IT.. A thread about the team's future success automatically turns into a "I miss you IT" thread. I find it a little absurb on how some people especially Kings fans love someone like IT so much to the point where anything else positive about the team doesn't matter because we've lost IT.

This article is about how the off-season pieces will fit, right? It is hard for me to get really excited about the off-season pieces, when we lost a very valuable piece in Isaiah. So, I am just putting that out there, just in case anyone forgot.

So far, I’m not jumping up and down with joy over the menagerie the GM has put together. But, I’m trying to stay positive, in the hope and belief that since he is the general manager and I am a mere pion of a fan, that his vision and wisdom of selecting players and fitting them together is light years beyond what my mortal brain can only hope to understand.
This wasn't from here, but I think it's just interesting how other kings fans see IT as our golden guy. I hope we can have more discussions about our current players and current team moving forward. This is the best website for kings fans because I think here, everyone gets a valid opinion.

You might want to just let it go about STR. Different strokes for different folks and all that. ;)

There's enough Kings stuff to talk about without wasting time on other fan boards.

I can already see where this thread is heading, when IT has a bad night this thread will be flooded with "I told you so" comments. When he plays well(most nights) it will be a ghost town. One thing I can already see we will miss is IT's fearless attitude in big moments, I dont see anyone in our backcourt who you can give the ball to to make a play down the stretch. Ideally you go to Cousins, but as we have seen a fatigued Cousins is prone to offensive fouls and bad passes when doubled. The thing that stings the most is that Derrick Williams, Jason Thompson and Carl Landry each take up as much cap space as IT.

Than you need to watch Darren Collison and Ramon Sessions a bit more, there's a difference between making a play and forcing a shot the latter which Thomas always did.

I'm only playing with this one.

wonder why............ hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.................... too busy delivering pizzas and not the rock to our main guys.

I turned on the game long enough to watch him run around the court, make a bad pass and Clips fast break.

Promptly moved along.

I watched a bit of that Suns/Clippers game during commercials on the World Series. From the little that I saw, IT didn't look like himself.

And it wasn't like he was having a bad shooting night - he didn't really hoist that many attempts, just two shots and a pair of free throws in 17 minutes. Could be an off night but I also saw halves and games from IT with the Kings where he was trying to be a distributor/facilitator that looked like that.

The criticism of IT is often that he doesn't pass the ball or setup his teammates. I'd say the issue is that he's just not good at those things. He doesn't see over the defense which hurts his ability to run the pick and roll or make good post entry passes. What Thomas does well is score. And that's what he should be asked to do. When he's asked to be a traditional PG he not only doesn't look good doing that but it takes away what does make him a good player. He's at his best when he's aggressively trying to score.

I didn't see that game but the trend with him is whenever a coach or teammate or someone gets in his ear about being a better teammate/PG, his whole game suffers.

I feel bad for him if the Suns are already trying to change him into something he's not. We knew he couldn't change and moved on. I hope the Suns didn't go in blind thinking they could turn him into anything but what he is. The reason he went there was because he thought they wanted him for what he does. More assists (and turnovers) than shots, you can't keep him on the court. That's not his game, and being rewarded with 17 minutes for his effort means he abandons that plan and comes out firing the next game. It's what he does well. It's just not always great for the teams chemistry.

I still think the signing was bizarre. Not enough basketballs in PHX to keep everyone happy. What he's great at is scoring. Take that away you have a below avg player on both ends of the court that you simply can't play big minutes. Not when you have Bledsoe/Dragic. Gonna be a roller coaster for him. Big minutes when he's hot and scoring, few when he's not. The Suns have that luxury. The Kings did not.

To be fair, he bounced back with a really nice game. 19 points. #2 on the team with 10 shots, 11 free throws. 3 assists. That's his game. If they let him keep doing that, everyone will be happy.

New interview with IT from everyone's favorite sports writer, Zach Lowe.

Whenever someone leaves a team under semi-controversial circumstances, the people left on that team the next preseason sometimes come out with those passive-aggressive comments about how things are really looking up. I’m sure you’ve seen the comments from DeMarcus Cousins and others, about how the ball isn’t “sticking” any more, and things like that. Do you hear that stuff? Do you care?

It definitely is a jab at me. I see it, and I use it as motivation. I don’t think too much of it, because I definitely wasn’t the problem there. But I do see the shots thrown at me. I wish the people throwing the shots would say my name, but they don’t want to. I just go about my business and worry about what I’ve got to do with the Phoenix Suns.

So much for taking the high road.

Zach Lowe really is bitter about the Kings and DeMarcus for some reason. He should probably take a look in the mirror if he's going to call out others for making "passive aggressive comments."

As for IT - he wasn't the problem, but he was certainly part of the problem. Anyone who thinks the ball moved well with IT at the helm is brain-dead, and so apparently is Lowe if he thinks DeMarcus wasn't simply commenting on a factual difference between this year and last.
