I expected to lose one of those songs (Welcome to the Jungle or Eye of the Tiger) but I did not think I'd lose both. Caused me great consternation.
As SacKings7 said, there was a discussion of how long this draft might take and I decided to err on the side of caution and revised it so that each decade would have eight songs instead of 10.

Ah, so. The Humpty Dance is probably my favorite rap song of all time. Of course, since I took it in last year's iPod draft, there was no threat of me taking it again.

It's amazing that we're only thru 4 rounds and there have been many songs taken that weren't taken in last year's 30 round draft

I should clarify. I'm not a fan of the Rolling Stones, calling a group "the next Rolling Stones" is a glorification given to a group that incredibly and permanently alters a type of music. Outkast ( who I'm sure were influenced to a great extent by our very own influential local golden boys Mac Dre and E-40), was the first reason to take seriously Atlanta dirty south, crunk, hiphy, whatever you want to call it, as a mainstream subtype of hip hop.
Alot of the new hip hop has been in this vein.

I was holding off on this one because both 90s rock and the Chili Peppers are so deep, but in the 5th round how can I not take a gem like this? The perfect song for a lonely beach campfire on the island. What--this song wouldn't sound good with just an acoustic, you say? Nonsense!
Allmusic link here. Some interesting facts about the song: the band's label wasn't sure what single should be next until some reps attended a Chili Peppers concert. Singer Anthony Kiedis screwed up the lyrics to "Under the Bridge" and was mortified at having done so in front of the label reps. The reps, however, were impressed because the crowd covered for Kiedis and sang the lyrics themselves. Needless to say, Under the Bridge was the next single and the rest was history. The song's success alienated guitarist John Frusciante (who wanted the band to remain "underground) to such a degree that he intentionally altered his playing during performances (including Saturday Night) to screw up everyone else, and he ended up leaving the band until the late 90s. The choir at the end of the song is Frusciante's mother and some of her friends. More from wikipedia.
