Has something happened? I'm feeling fine now.

just all the drama....
Where there is smoke, there typically is fire, and all these rumors have me freaked out. I'm sure other Kings fans are feeling the same way. Why can't we ever just stay in our shoes and not try to get cute. Last year, the FO tried to get really cute, by trading back a couple of spots, and ended up making one of the worst trades we've seen in a very long time. I just have a really bad feeling that we are about to screw up Major again. If we trade away #5 and not make it contingent on whether OUR guy slips to 5 or not, then I think I'll quit the Kings entirely. I don't necessarily mind them considering trading 5 overall, but they better make it contingent on whether or not our guy is there. If MKG is there, and we trade out of that spot, I think I'll blow a gasket.
No kidding. Just like the Olympic gods, the Maloofs are petty, arbitrary, vain, vengeful, easy to distract and, more often than not, foolish.Dude, take a deep breath and step away from the cliff. It's two days before the draft. There are ALWAYS rumors flying all over the place and you can drive yourself nuts if you start listening to them all.
Just to address one particular issue? Carmichael Dave had a discussion on his show today (early podcast because of a commitment this evening) about last year's draft pick. He looks at it as NOT something done by the front office but rather something concocted at the direct order of the Maloofs. Jimmer Fredette was the media darling at the time and it makes a lot of sense to assume that the Maloofs told Petrie to do whatever it took to get them the new shiny toy.
It's not an easy time to be a Kings fan and it's not for the faint of heart. You have to just hope for the best while remembering that as long as the Brothers Maloof are the owners we run the risk of living our lives much like characters in a Greek tragedy...
There is nothing wrong with trades if they benefit your team. I rather don't like Petrie's habit of drafting a player higher than normally just because he can, rather than look to move down and gain another piece in doing so. The problem with last year's trade was that it was a total PR move and not a solid basketball move.
That used to bother me too, but why move back and risk missing out on the guy you really want? You move back if there's a bunch of guys you wouldn't mind and some other team is in love with a player.
