I would only trade Artest for a young big man... he is about the only player we could trade to get a young promising big man... i would not trade him for corey maggette... the kings have plenty of swing men...

ideally, i would trade Artest and SAR (or Thomas or Williamson) to the chicago bulls for tyrus thomas and PJ Brown....

the kings get a promising young big man in Tyrus and a veteran Brown that wants out of chicago... Brown also comes off the books in the summer... the bulls get some interior scoring in SAR and a defensive stopper in Artest... scott skiles loves defense and with Artest and Ben Wallace, the bulls would be defensive giants...

Starting Line up for the Kings:

PF Tyrus Thomas
SF John Salmons
C Brad Miller
SG Kevin Martin
PG Mike Bibby

Bench:
FC PJ Brown
GF Francisco Garcia
F Kenny Thomas
F Corlis Williamson
G Ronnie Price
G Quincy Douby

The Bulls would also be stacked:

PF SAR
SF Artest Deng
C Ben Wallace
SG Nocioni
PG Heinrich Ben Gorden

Artest & Big Ben = hard to see Chicago taking that chance. Especially given that they have Luol Deng and Nocioni. In any case, if you just toss in SAR with Artest I actually would be looking to nab another piece of some sort to go with Thomas and Brown -- Tyrus is exciting, but will be very lucky to ever be what Ron is today (minus nuttiness).

Still a thought though -- Tyrus Thomas, and the cap room to make a serious run at Darko for instance. Throw in a nice high pick and could clean up that youth/athleticism problem up front in no time.

artest and ben made up earlier this year... deng and nocioni can play the shooting guard position... the other will be great depth off the bench...

maybe the kings can get a late first round draft pick in a future draft, like 2008 or 2009... unlikely to get a first round in 2007 draft....

the bulls are full of young players with potential, but they need some current all stars to make a title run... the bulls are not shy about trading big men with potential, i.e. trading eddie curry and tyson chandler and elton brand in the recent past... the kings may be able to get young atheltic big man with artest....

i would definetley not trade artest for maggette or any other swingman... we need to think big with a artest trade... meaning a big athletic big man...

Chicago wouldn't take Ron Artest back.

why not? they drafted him with the 16th pick... he did not have any major issues while he was there, that i can remember... chicago is hungry to put together a championship caliber team... ron-ron would put them into the league of 2004 detroit pistons type defensive team... scott skiles would love a defensive stopper for the wing position....
