How would Griffin fit in?

Yes you do draft for need. We need one of the top 2 players in the draft, being Griffin or Rubio. I have nothing against Griffin, but I think Rubio would help this team more. And we are talking about the top 2 players in the draft, after that the talent level drops immediatley.

Where did you come up with that stupid statement? Rubio had the mental toughness to start at pg in the gold medal game at age 17. And they are two completely different players, so comparing Rubio to a beast like Griffin, or Amare, or Karl Malone, or anyone else like that is pointless. Do you think Rubio will be a beast in the paint and grab 10 rebs a game? Watch some basketball.
What does being a EURO player have to do with mental toughness? Is Dirk to weak for the nba? Gasol? Calderon? Rudy Fernandez? Hedo? Tony Parker?I can continue if you like. Euro players usually are very tough mentally after playing pro ball when they are 15, and representing their countries in euro and world championship tournaments at a young age.

So now you expect Petrie to get both Griffin and Rubio??? And if he doesn't get both than you think less of him? Wow. I disagree with every point you tried to make. In fact, I think you are less informed about nba basketball than anyone else on this forum. Congrats!

Where did I compare Rubio to Griffin and Are we really using Dirk the Choke as an example here Paul Gasol one of the softest players in the NBA? Get real i'm simply saying college basketball is more competitive than Euro basketball and the chances of Griffin panning out are higher than Rubio's I never said anything about rebounds so your taking my comments out of context and secondly I've been around basketball my whole life my dad coached for 20 years and i've played the game i'm not an internet GM but i'm just giving my opinion. Lastly it is possible for him to get Griffin and Rubio if Washington is the 2nd team to pick and is willing to trade their pick hince the other form that discusses this topic. Think twice before you come at me.

Dirk the Choke. Are you serious? Gasol one of the sofest players in the league? He might be 1st team all-nba this year. I would love to have either one on this team.

No, college basketball is not better than Euro basketball. The league Rubio has played in since he was 15 is hands down the 2nd best league in the world next to the nba. There are a handful of college teams that could compete at the Spanish Euroleague level. Do you really think Rubio would have been better off by not playing in Spain in the ABC Euroleague at age 15, and instead played at his local high school untill transfering to a US college this coming fall? No way.

I would love to have both Rubio and Griffin, but when was the last time a team drafted the top 2 players in the draft? The chance of that happening are slim to none. You gave me the impression that you EXPECT Petrie to pull that off. That is much different than HOPING he will pull it off. You said "if petrie is the genius we all think he is than he will draft both Griffin and Rubio". I am paraphrasing what you said, but your expectations are unrealistic. So yes, I will come at you since I disagree with everything you have said.

The fact that you actually believe that college ball is tougher or more competitive than Euro ball shows that your basketball knowledge is limited at best. Seriously, it's unbelievable. Just don't know how you could come to that conclusion unless you're sticking to the Great Stereotype (which I believe you are).

Ok maybe I am underestimating their league but put it this way what's the feeder system to the nba it sure isn't the euro league its college that's where a great deal of players come from. I know its not always the case my point is if you get the number one you draft griffin despite your need for a pg. Rubio is still very young do you think he comes in an rights the ship at pg beno is still the starter based on experoence obviously not talent but my petrie comment if you seen my posts on the other thread is based on hypotheticals and speculation not that we are definitively getting both. I'm glad you can question my knowledge of the game because we have difference of opinion but I think we have something in common we want the kings to get better and get either one of these players

College is pretty much there as a stepping stone to the NBA for the best players; Euro league is not. It's professional. Of course the NBA is the best league in the world, no one is disputing that, but alot of European players are happy making a great living in Europe ie. alot of players don't have an interest in playing in the NBA. Of course the athleticism factor is a big one too, not all "Euros" are able to cut it athletically with the NBA athletes. But to suggest that college ball is superior to Euro league clearly wrong to anyone who follows both (without bias). That's the only reason I questioned your knowledge. I don't give much credit to people who dismiss Euro league as weak when they don't follow it.

Anyway, I agree. We both want the Kings to be in the best possible position for the future. Whether that's with Griffin or Rubio, I don't know. I would be very happy with either, but I think I prefer Rubio. Having said that, I understand that Griffin will more than likely be the 1st pick, and I'm OK with that. But I'd prefer we got the 2nd overall.
