Heat-Kings talking Artest Deal

Oops, yeah, forgot to post this.

If that's what they're offering (and both of them together does not work salarywise BTW -- its either or unless we are throwing in another contract (Kenny! :D ), then frankly I'm not interested either. And I've generally been supportive of the idea. But supportive on the ground of gaining their #20 and quite possibly Dorell Wright. Now if they are in fact willing to give up JWill, even without a replacement coming back the other way, I'm interested on that front, and if its sweetend by Wrihgt and a pick or two, bingo. But otherwise, that does nothign for us, and its the Heaat jsut trying to pass off their own KT/Reef level mediocrity to another team for an impact guy. Geoff already did that once a couple of years ago. No thanks on a repeat.

Oh come on Riley, that offer is just pathetic. Let's get things moving here. Williams, Wright/Simien, 20th.

Give me a break, if you want something good you gotta give up something good. Williams, Wright, and a second rounder might get it done. I believe the Heat have a few extra second rounders because of the compensation for SVG. In this draft though the 20th pick could be a valuable one so that might be more valuable than getting Wright.

whats up with riley being stingy lately, always wanting something for nothing after getting sweep in a series can make a man awfully weary, wake up riley you don't have the nba dream team, and we're not asking for d. wade so whats your excuse? give up your pick and we'll give up artest.

I agree with everyone here, this deal stinks. We take back a subpar point guard and a overchieving power forward who still isn't very good, for Artest. Haslem's contract stinks (3 more years at around 20 million) for his production, and again, hustle guys just wear out earlier than guys with talent.

This is the deal Riley needs to put forth IMO to get Geoff to bite:

Jason Williams
Michael Doleac
Dorell Wright(i'd personally settle for Wayne Simien at this point)
#20

for

Ron Artest
Kenny Thomas

OR

turn it into a three way deal where:

Miami trades:
Jason Williams
Udonis Haslem
#20

Miami receives:
Ron Artest
Kenny Thomas

New Jersey trades:
Jason Collins
#17

New Jersey receives:
Udonis Haslem

Kings deal:
Ron Artest
Kenny Thomas

Kings receive:
Jason Collins
Jason Williams
#17
#20

Either of those deals would be equitable IMO.
