thornton went on a tear to start the game 2/3 fg and 1/2 3pt... so he was promptly benched

Almost impossible to say anything positive about Smart. Only thing I can think of is keeping DMC's ego in check.

But those don't mean much when he keeps forgetting about his starters, in the middle of a game.

As I've also pointed out, this isn't the first team I've watched him coach. Hence, it's not the first time I'm seeing these errors. That makes it even more of a concern.

1. Has trust of all players

2. Developing Jimmer's fundamentals and court management skills

3. Has Salmons playing well... OFF THE BENCH (never happened in the history of the universe)

4. Installing effective offensive schemes and getting player so buy into them. Squashing hero ball.

5. Teaching effective zone D.

I think the sort season and lack of rest for all the starter plays a big part in his resting them... although sometimes its def silly
