The guy was in the D-League and was even overseas for a while. Anyone could have signed him. Kings had him and clearly didn't know any better.Could the Kings have signed this guy before Miami did?

Right. Just answering the question asked by the poster. While the, "Everyone-the-Kings-Cut-Go-On-To-Be-Good" argument is a dead horse, it doesn't get any less disappointing when it happens.Nobody did. Whiteside said he called every team to try and get a training camp invite and was told no.
Whiteside spent some time with the Kings because he was drafted by the Kings. That went knowhere. He played a couple years in China I think. Not sure how we could sign him to a 10 day contract now as he is under contract to another team.
Now that was a performance that impresses Mister Slim!how about that boy Hassan making some history today...good for him. We sure could of used his length and shot blocking ability....
KEITH SMART SIGHTING WITH WHITESIDE

whiteside averaged a block every 2 minutes! WTF!!!! DAMN YOU INDIAN BURIAL GROUND!!!!
No. Faried and Chandler have both had 25. What interests me is that two Kings have had a twenty-rebound game this season, and DeMarcus Cousins is not either one of them.16/24/0/1/1 tonight.
24 boards an NBA season high?
I don't know that bouncing around to four different D-League teams, and Lebanon and China twice, before working his way back to the NBA, can reasonably qualify as "outta nowhere."man... is hassan whiteside just the most stellar example of a player "getting it" outta nowhere?
man... is hassan whiteside just the most stellar example of a player "getting it" outta nowhere? it seemed as if he could hardly play the organized sport of basketball when he came into the league, and now he's a big time contributor in miami...
You all see the ESPN NBA front page? I don't pay for insider anymore but the current top story is comparing Hassan to none other than David Robinson.
he compared himself 2 the admiral during the draft
Is Anyone in the org still friends with Hassan? Any way we can steal him in free agency? Any way he would want to come back? Not having a stable coach or front office certainly hurts our chances!
