[Game] Grizzlies @ Kings - 1/7/13

To add to my last post IT played the first 12 minutes of the game while Garcia played 11:55 in the first. HOW CAN YOU HAVE TWO PLAYERS, TWO STARTERS PLAY EVERY SECOND BUT FIVE IN THE FIRST QUARTER AND NOT AT ALL IN THE SECOND. It makes absolutely zero sense.

Fran came in for the last 30 seconds of the 2nd quarter! I'm not sure why though?

I wish we had Hollins. Watched around 6 Grizzlies games this year and he knows how to handle a rotation. Just looking at tonight's minute distribution, he has 3 guys with 20+ minutes, Marc with 15 minutes and only played 9 guys. We've played 11 with only JT and Salmons getting the proper minutes (even though Boogie got in foul trouble this time)

But Garcia and IT didn't play at all in the second quarter, they are going to be SUPER EXTRA DUPER rested and ready to start the third.

idk what games you watch, but all those guys are loads better than Garcia. especially Bayless, Kleiza, Crowder (whos a rookie btw) and Rivers (also a rookie)

I don't give passes for past performance, or future potential. In 2012-13, Bayless, Kleiza, Crowder and Rivers are not better than Garcia.

The way Smart will play a person for an entire quarter, then bench them for the next one drives me insane. How can he think a player is playing good enough to play a solid 12 minutes but not good enough to play at all in the following 12. Give the guys some consistency for crying out loud.

ya i noticed he did a good job of giving his starters quick rests. didnt leave em out too long and didnt pull them all out together

Oh, you caught me. He did play the last 30.9 seconds of the 2nd to replace Hayes on offense to close out the quarter. My bad, looks like Smart does know how to sub people. =D

I just don't like what Brooks does on the floor for this team. He's looking to shoot, but he's not going to run much offense and his defense is baaaad. His handles in the lane are a little suspect as well. IT may not have the stats right now, but he seems to understand what to do on offense and what the team needs.

If IT could learn how to get around a screen he would get a lot less complaints from me. Gets bumped off all the time and lets the other teams guards get to where the want which causes all kinds of problems.

I agree. He needs evidence to back up his claims. I don't mind people having different opinions than me, but for gods sake put some effort behind your argument or it becomes annoying. It's the same thing when we had that Jimmer fanboy on this forum who thought he was going to be the next Steve Nash without anything to back it up with.

You never know though. He might have a crystal ball.

I've seen him being called out by numerous posters lately, and his defense is increasingly you're just a Cuz fanboy or have a love affair with Cuz. Or now a boy toy. Never anything to back up his stance once called out for it.

he's had a few games where he made his open 3's. and a few nice plays on defense (but on those plays he's gambling which more often then not leaves his man open to score)

other than that, he has been god awful

The Grizzlies stream is about 5 seconds behind the Kings, comes in handy when I am trying to get a second look at plays.
