How would the Kings go about giving somebody from another team's d-league affiliate a shot?

Unless he is under contract with the parent organization, all the Kings have to do is offer him a contract and sign him. It's not like baseball where it is a true minor league and the parent organization owns the rights to all of the players on their affiliates. In the NBA it is currently a loose affiliation where the organizations have the options of sending their 1st and 2nd year players to those teams.

Jazz recently did it with a D-leaguer that wasn't from their own team.
They reportedly scouted him in a game vs their own Utah Flash.
Sundiata Gaines. He scored the game winning three vs the Cavaliers on the tenth day of his 10-day contract. How funny is that?!

Would I go after him? yah sure. Couldnt hurt. Has to be more effective than some of the trash we have on the team now. And if he's not, you can always cut him.

That being said, Geoff normally doesnt make these kind of moves. Gotta save that cash.
