And just when you thought it could not get any worse....

And as an aside, this loss did it -- at 8-27 this Kings crew has now officially gotten off to the worst start through 35 games of any Kings team ever. Worse than the 23-59 1990 crew, the 24-58 1988 crew, the 25-57 1991 and 1993 crews...any of them. You have just seen history. Don't you feel privileged?

Alrighty, here we go, and in honor of this momentous occasion, one of the posters in the game thread unwittingly suggested the only possible appropriate theme: Its KT's World, and We Just Live In It:

Cisco ( C+ ) -- got the start again just for the heck of it, and lasted less than 6 minutes while we looked awful again. Then Kevin came in and never let him return. Finally joined the fray in the late 3rd, hitting a couple of side jumpers off of drive and kicks. Having no luck at all slowing Carter though. In as a backup PG late after Natt apparently wasn't happy with any of his other options and started having everyone except for KT (like MJ before him, two initials are all it takes) bring it up. You see the Nets were without Harris after half (hamstring) so the strategy looked almost semi-viable. Almost. Resulted in an awesome 16 point 4th quarter and another late collapse, although Cisco was as good as anybody during that stretch of experimentation, and certainly better than the Kevin PG stint.

President KT

Moore ( C- ) -- started off the game very active and apparently wanting to get physical with Yi for some reason, which doesn't exactly qualify you as eat nails tough. And yet it seemed to backfire as Yi, who is S-O-F-T, surprised everyone in the arena by apparently becoming pissed off and proceeding to kick our collective asses all over the court, Mikki's included of course. I don't think Mikki was actually expecting resistance, because he went away fast, and with the totally awesome spectacle that was Kenny Thomas's return to action, lost almost all of his second half minutes as well.

KT Enshrined

Miller ( C+ ) -- very effective in the first quarter with his passing, repeatedly setting up Mikki and the guards. Did not hit his own shots, but useful for breaking the zone with his passing. Never led to anything in particular though, and after half was basically not effective. In fact our best center of the night might have been...Kenny Thomas. Gulp. Play down the stretch, let's see how should I put this...oh yes, it sucked. Threw up an airball, got into with the refs again (the beef may have been legitimate this time but damnit man, grow a pair and play through it for once), and of course got himself the technical, because he's an idiot. At least waited this time until our crappy late game play had already eliminated any chance of victory before adding the icing on the cake.

Salmons ( D- ) -- well thank you John for once again reaffirming my disdain for you. Decided to once again put on full display the wart that makes moving what should be a very moveable commodity -- a 19-20ppg scorer with a $5 million contract so difficult. He is not a team player. He cannot play unless he is "the man", and of course he can't be "the man" unless the team really sucks. Case in point, Kevin returns and explodes off the bench with an A+ type first half picking up right where he left off, and our other scorer's response? Buh bye. Completely lost and passionless. Forced a few halfhearted drives, and that was basically it. Did not even particularly bring the defense, and any anticiapted Salmons guarding Vince showdown that may have been anticiapted enver materialized. So we get 36 frtom Keivn. 12 from Thompson. 10 from Cisco. And 3 from the guy averaging 19 on the season. Natt started benching him late too, which I am sure will go over well.

KT = Dreamy

Udrih ( C- ) -- what is there to say at this point? Except to again mention that this is not all just Beno -- our "coach" has taken the ball out of the hands of his PG with no apparent viable idea fo what to do next. So Beno disappears, and night to night we have absolutely no idea who is going to run the offense or how its going to be run. Beno and a few hoops despite some sloppy feeling play in the first half, but was mostly just along for the ride. After half even that could not be said, as he was irrelevant in the extreme in the third quarter, sat out for a long long spell while Natt decided to experiment in game and see if anybody could top Mikki Moore as PG, and then returned for the final 2 or 3 minutes to again not matter. Was Beno bad? Well, he was not good. But if this is the offense you want to run, and I use the term loosely, Steve Nash would be averaging 10pts 5ast.

KT At The Mansion

Martin ( A- ) -- a night for a quote: Harvey Dent: You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain. And if Kevin had just "died" at halftime, he would be an unqiestioned heroe right now. But unfortunately it was his gamt aht died during the break, and you ended up with one of those ultimate tale of two games games. Started off like he never broke stride from the last game, and simply wasn't going to miss in the first half. Poured in 25 pts off the bench, and he had better stop this or Natt is going to make him a career 6th man. You are supposed to pout and whine when you come off the bench -- that's the key to starting for the Kings. Started to cool in the third, and so did we not surprisingly. Then cranked it up a notch and went from "cool" to "suck" and guess where we went? Natt had him bringing the ball up in the late 3rd quarter for some reason -- that is not Kevin's strength -- and Dooling simply reached out and plucked the ball away from him on one possession for a berakway that Kevin had to foul, and then heavily harassed him until Natt's brain cell (singular) finally had time to process the information. Managed to finally get 11 points after half but they were fugly points not helping us at all as we rakced up an impressive 35pts in the half. Bricked his jumpers and in between game. Repeatedly met and denied at the rim inside. Could not stop Carter when he was on him. Just, as I mentioned, a tale of two halves. A+ first half. D-ish second half...so I went A-. We are after all still talking 36pts here.

One For The Ladies

Thompson ( B ) -- only guy really drawn along by Kevin's first half momentum, although I suppose it would be more correct to say that Kevin and Jason were the only ones drawn along by KT's first half momentum. Hit his shots a lot more smoothly than normal, and just knocked down the outside jumper rather than forcing (although note, if he misses them we would be talkng about "settling for the outside jumper" rather than praising it). In any case, he and Kenny working together were by far our most effective big man combo of the night, and Jason was far more efficient and in control than we have seen him. Still had problems on defense though, struggled to contain Yi and was getting no help from the refs. But overall a good solid outing.

Jackson ( B- ) -- okay, I suppose Bobby was also pulled along a bit by the Martin momentum in the first half, and gave us a pretty good 2nd quarter stint. Remains funny how night and day that shot looks ever since Coach Whoever told him to knock off the hours-long pre-game shootarounds. Not able to keep the momentum rolling after half though, and kept on coming up with big misses rather than big shots outside. And with the Wonder Natt deciding to play everybody on the active roster at PG rather than stick with anybody long enough for them to get into a rhythm, late minutes were curtailed.

The Title Says It All

Brown ( C+ ) -- played well in his second quarter stint, pressing the pace and scrapping for loose balls. Also had a couple of nice assists -- nto jsut the pas itself, but in moving like a PG to set the guys up. But never did get his shot going, and looked shakier after half causing Natt to break out a napkin and start drawing up plays for Mikki at PG.

International Icon

Thomas ( B+ ) -- oh, its a frickin' nightmare. The worst part is that he legitimately played well, at least for a half, and so now we are going to get to see more of him. Anybody want to bet on whether he takes Jason's minutes once Hawes is back? Anyway, very active when he entered in the second quarter, got on the glass and used his body to shield the Nets off, slapped away balls on defense, made a major impact in there playing like a vet who knew the tricks vs. the Nets kids who clearly did not. Played so well in fact that if he had never returned he would have earned an A of some sort here. Not nearly as effective in his return in the 4th, and yet Natt still had him in there playing the entire quarter as we died away. Normally I would call that stupid. But this was Kenny Thomas we are talking about, so all is forgiven. I mean, what would we be without Kenny?

I couldn't believe Kenny Thomas was out there on the court. Hopefully it was just an audition for a potential trade partner, just to prove that he's still somewhat capable and we won't be selling them a (total) lemon. So maybe Kenny is getting traded this week. That's my positive thought for the day.

We're worse than this?
1990 Kings:
C - Greg Kite/Pervis Ellison
F - Rodney McCray/Wayman Tisdale/Harold Pressley
G - Vinny Del Negro/Danny Ainge/Kenny Smith

On second thought, the 1990 team was better at the point guard and forward positions and just a little worse at center.

I think we should me a new forum dedicated to college basketball. Time to start checking out potential lottery picks.

Sooooo Kenny Thomas steals Mikki's minutes and probably does a better job that Mikki would have. Kenny will start before long. LOL. Seriously fire Kenny Natt. Let Donte Green be interim coach.

Go Canucks!! How Swede It Is!!!

OK Circa, I have a question for you:

When you quoted bc, his text has first letters in caps when in his post it doesn't. I have seen this before, but is this something you did for some reason or is it a web browser thing, or ????

Looks goofy, and I can't imagine folks are editing posts to put in caps all over.....

If Kenny Thomas wasn't ridiculously wealthy, I'd feel very happy for him.
Heck, I'm glad he did a little something on the floor, no matter how meaningless it is. Can't help but feel a little bit sorry for him.

I hate to say it, but Kenny should actually get props tonight, he was more effective than most of our guys and at this point he may actually be a better option than Mikki Moore...yikes!

Neither of those getting minutes is productive to the Kings future but really what move has Kenny Natt made that is productive to the Kings future?

One of the more bizzaro games I've seen. Ridiculous officiating. Ridiculous substitutions. Kenny Thomas making a guest appearance. No point guard in the 4th quarter. Even Kaytey is joining in the fray, raising questions about the Natt decisions. Not that I blame her, but it is a little different for her to be so overt regarding the coach. The schedule looks horrendous. Chicago is the 4th game in 5 nights. Forget about it. Then you have to wait all the way until the Warriors game before you have a chance....BRUTAL. There absolutely will be a trade done by the trade deadline. It might not be a good trade, but there will be a trade. I just hope they don't panic and give us two more Miki Moore's.

KT>>>>>Mikki

Not that that's saying much.

And wow...Beno. Talk about playing for a contract. Dude is crap.

Not a superstar in the draft either. Maybe there's one in the next draft. We'll suck in 09-10 too.

Only bright spots I can think of...

um...JT was scoring well. Played good D, but the refs gave him the rookie treatment. Martin was tired, otherwise would have had another 40+ game. Miller had 8 assists and no TO's...Maybe we can still get Tyrus Thomas for him haha. And uh...KT was ballin

Actually they were ALL meant to be caps, but I guess the filter only let the first letters be that way. lol Oh well...:D

ps: I dont usually use caps, I think they're annoying, and dont ever try to do the annoying one cap, one lowercase, one cap thing, THAT'S annoying. lol I had the caps lock on for my short post, since it was so short. lol
