And I dont care how many fancy jumpers Belineli hits he is a net negative out there on the floor because he cannot defend/help defend at all. He should be a 10-14 min guy or only out there to spread the floor late in a game. George is insane if he thinks going small with Beli at the 3 and Darren at the 2 is going to work in this league. That combo is killing us everynight.
You mean - they're killing us every night EXCEPT for the game you are posting this in (vs the Bulls).....

As much as I dislike how much Bellinelli and Collision play, those 2 were 2 of the ONLY Kings players with above-average games last night.

...I wasn't deliberately trying to mislead people, I'm just fed up. In plain terms, I want the front office of the Kings to finally embrace who this team is with Cousins/Gay/Rondo and hire a coach that fits or save us all the headaches and blow it up. If they're not going to fire George Karl (which is what I would prefer a million times over) than man up and do the deed already, repulsive as it may be. A nation divided against itself cannot stand.

Hear, hear.

just another day at the office for the Kings, tonight's newest member...E'twaun Moore. I here by welcome thee to the annual Kings scrub HOF.

To be fair to Grant, which, believe me, hurts, he called out Karl for Cousins not knowing he needed to hit the rim. Karl had JUST SPOKEN TO CUZ! That didn't come up? That was basically the only thing to be said at that point and it either didn't happen or Cousins forgot.

He also put the blame on the slow starts on the coach. It seemed to pain him to turn that corner and start going after Karl, but the problems are pretty clear at this point.

Then the weird foul by Rondo. This is a VERY poorly coached team. These guys aren't geniuses, but they're not THIS dumb. Karl blamed Rondo in the media I think. Cause that's what he does I guess.

Kayte said Rondo looked to the coaches to see if he should foul or not and she thought he was told to foul.

I listened to that segment as well today. Pretty interesting. You could tell there was a little hesitation in his voice when criticizing Karl.

Just seems like the **** is extremely close to hitting the fan right now. This sucks. I had such high hopes with this team going into Summer League.

I only caught a few minutes driving home (it's about all I can handle) but the venom turning toward Karl seemed like a new thing. The usual "mentally weak" charge against Demarcus and all that also. And late in the Bulls game, Cuz struggled mentally and physically. No doubt there. Missed FTs, etc. Not his best.

Gay also had a really weird intentional foul recently too. You just wonder what is going on. These guys are vets. It's just strange to make these kinds of mistakes more than once and from multiple veteran players. If Rondo and Gay and Boogie don't know what is expected, how do Ben and Willie feel?

I just wish Karl would accept some responsibility. Two things can be true. A. The players are idiots and B. The coaches aren't helping.

The two of the most seasoned vets on our team commit two inexcusable intentional fouls in critical moments all within a couple games?

All the missed assignments and bone head mistakes over and over. Where the hell is the accountability?

Probably in the locker room where it belongs instead of the sports pages where it is damaging...but that might be expecting too much from Karl...

What do you mean, like sit Cuz? There are some bridges not crossed.

Exactly. We'll give up 60+ points in a half and the coaching staffs answer seems to be "well we need to score 70". Yet the run we went on earlier this month was driven primarily on the defensive end of the court.

This won't change until we have a new staff in place.

I respect your opinion, but I do not agree with it. I think that the roster needs to change more than the coaching staff because we simply do not have players that can play good defense. In fact, we have terrible defenders. We are the Sacramento Matadors!

There's really only two choices from here:

(1) Blow up the team, trade everybody. Including Cousins.
(2) Fire George Karl and see if this team has a future with different leadership.

Anything else is a waste of time. I'm serious, I just don't see any other way this team gets better. We're not even a playoff team in the West this year with Rajon Rondo, Rudy Gay, and DeMarcus Cousins? Are you kidding me? We're getting our asses kicked by E'Twaun Moore, Jeff Green, Ryan Anderson, Troy Daniels. Either we've got the coaching thing so wrong that we're vastly under-performing our talent level or our talent level is still in the bottom third of the league. Looking at our roster I just can't believe we're as bad as this. We're not a young team anymore. DeMarcus, Rudy, and Rondo are all All-Star level players in their prime. Koufos, Collison, and Belinelli have been solid veterans for awhile on other teams. Casspi has been extremely effective shooting the ball this year. And yet we've managed to suck our way all the way back to the 9th spot in the lottery. It just defies belief. Either George Karl is so bad that he needs to be fired ASAP before he can do any more damage or we've topped out as an erratic middle of the pack squad that will never make the playoffs with these players.

Nope. There's a third choice: Both #1 and #2 options.

There is a fourth option: have Cuz play flat out on defense for as long as he can and rest him and do it again. He probably plays at least 25% less total minutes. Believe the whole team would play better across the board. It's the easiest IF Vlade and the coaching staff could bite the bullet and do it.

That's usually not the strategy with your best offensive player, especially when you have them playing a fast style not suited to them.

If that's the case, Brown deserved it. Once Brown talked trash to Boogie, it's all fair game.

Yeah, but how do you not know that the ball has to hit the rim on a FT? That rule is the same whether it's high school, NCAA, or the NBA. It's honestly just mind boggling to me that he wouldn't know that.

You sacrifice your advantage on offense. You lose some offensive fire power and depend more on the rest of the team. Try it.

People keep bringing up the last bone headed plays but when you look a the whole game we lost to a team missing Butler/Noah/Niko/Mike Dunleavy there's 4 key rotation pieces and a elite two way player. You shouldn't be in a close game or behind to begin with.

We lose cause again this team in particular the core three guys don't have a high motor or high IQ, to me Rondo's IQ has been grossly overrated what he's doing here is nearly identical to what Grevis Vasquez did in NO before he joined us.

OR we lost because once again the head coach couldn't come up with a game plan to properly utilize our players against a team missing four of their key rotation players.

No we lost to a team missing it's best player and half it's core what game plan do you even need for that? Karl should be fired but some of these guys should also be traded.

You made your observation. I replied with an alternative observation which is just as valid.

You need a game plan for EVERY game, regardless of what team you're playing. You overlook a weakened team at your peril, which should be painfully obvious to every Kings fan on the planet.

Or could it be that he had a good game plan and the players couldn't quite pull it off. I'm really not sure which it is if either. But I do see how most are interpreting it.

Yes, really.

I'm asking a question. If he said he didn't know, fair enough. If Karl said Cuz didn't know, fair enough. I haven't had a chance to dissect the whole thing due to being busy, so if I missed something like that, you can just let me know.

Also, I happened to be at the game, and I was seated directly behind the backboard and at the right level that I had a lot of trouble seeing the shot. I thought he barely missed the rim, and I haven't watched a replay. If he missed by like four feet, fair enough.

Now look at what you have done. We live in a binary world; it is one or the other. He knew the rule or didn't. Then you screw it up by adding a third possibility. Shame on you. ;)

I had assumed he tried and missed, it wasn't until I read Grant's account of the Randy Brown encounter that it occurred to me maybe Boogie didn't know the rule.
