IT is one of those players whose style of play will crank out pretty stat sheets, but will not result in winning seasons.

Loved the way Cuz just dominated a weak Chicago front court. Even before getting ejected, Noah was getting dominated. After Noah pointed out each Ref for their excellence, Cuz was just downright nasty. Everyone was playing off the big man. It was a very efficient and dominant team performance.

I was especially impressed with Jimmer when he and Cuz were playing the 2 man game. It seems that IT has trouble feeding the post because of his height. Whereas Jimmer seems to be feeding the post better and better each game. And the P&R game with Jimmer and Cuz was very good. Seems Malone could utilize that a bit more as long as Jimmer isnt failing at defense. There are some teams that Jimmer/Cuz P&R combo will pay huge dividends. Jimmer needs more playing time to see if he can continue to improve his ball handling, assists, and team defense. His shooting has never really been an issue.

FEB 20 is the trade deadline. Who will stay and who will go. I think this FO and ownership team is not going to stand pat. Standing Pat is a Magoof Era move. I can see the Kings bringing in a veteran PG who can defend and make assists. And I can see them making a move for another Big for rebounding/defense.

If no additional trades are made between now and Feb. 20, it could also mean nobody wants what we're willing to part with at this point in time. It's not like there are a bunch of hidden treasures on our roster. I'm sure PDA is doing all he can, but that's no guarantee anyone will bite...

I wonder what the activity will be like this year overall... With a huge draft coming up, teams may be gun shy to give up players / cap-space, etc. that could help them bargain into a higher pick during the draft.

You know this how? Way too early.. How long has our core been together and all on the floor? How tough has our opposition been in win percentage over that stretch? Let IT and the guys play and we will find out

this mentality remains faulty. it's just over two weeks until the trade deadline. unless the kings want to risk isaiah thomas walking for nothing as an unrestricted free agent, they must determine in these next two weeks whether they intend to re-sign him in the offseason (while potentially having to overpay him), or whether they intend to try and trade him before the 20th. that's it. those are the options. there's no lengthy evaluative period ahead of them. it's an unfortunate bind, but the kings' front office needs to knuckle down and very quickly make a judgment call about how far they believe they can go with or without the pizza guy...

Unfortunately that doesn't really relieve the dilemma, especially with the market value for IT so murky. Someone comes along and drops $10mil on him...well there you are at that rock and hard place. Alternately someone comes along and drops a Lin/Asik style poison pill deal -- $5mil, $5mil $15mil...you're looking ahead and can get chased off. If we let IT get to free agency we have to be committed to the idea of matching almost no matter what, because there certainly Is no guarantee we can get another big $$ free agent PG to come.

Kings have Bird rights for IT. 5-5-15 is not possible. It would be $8,333,333 3 years.
