There is no question that this team does not care at all which is exactly the same attitude of their owners. The problem has been identified so how is it solved. I'd love to hear an answer that could change the course of this year.

This year is done with until new ownership is in place. They are tired of playing for a lame duck coach who has no idea what he is doing. It's not Smart's fault that he was put in this position by cheap owners. He's clearly not qualified, but i cant't blame him for taking the job.

I admit I didn't watch bu half the game. The first half. Pretty close to unbelievable. Siince I always recod, I then went off to dinner, came back and saw a little of the high desert in Peru and Bolivia, then "As Time Goes By" and dared to look the score up on NBA.com, 55 to 104 with 6 or 8 minutes to play. At that point I chose "Doc Martin" on PBS. The rest is history.

This terrible game renews fervent desire to keep the Kings right here in Sacramento. I've spent many years watching mediocre ball or worse just to be finally rewarded with the team playing some good ball, maybe just for a few games and once or twice for whole seasons. Let's stay right here and be ready some good basketball. It will happen again- sometime.

Our play now is so uninspired that it surpasses the effect of a bad coach. Players on a team like this might chose to "off" themselves. GUYS, DON't let that happen. Just go out there and pretend its playground ball and have some fun. Go Kings!

Have the Kings just given up listening to the Coach? Have the Kings just given up? Is it entirely the coaches fault? Which came first the chicken or the egg? The players or the coach? Probably mostly coaches fault based on his continuing to use the same rotations in the 2nd quarter that don't work and his rotations in general. Tyreke ever the diplomat but most others quite silent for the most part. Back in 96-97 when Mitch Richmond gave up and we had a horrible season he was the root of the main problem but what else was he to do? Bail out but that ended up getting us CWeeb. Mitch only had a couple years left in his knees anyway so ended up well for Kings.

But now? Paralysis has set in at all levels. Some to be expected in view of team sale but does it have to be this bad?

I think that gives hope for the future but for the present, bleah! To blame it on something else is to say our team isn't any good. Of course that's possible but I'm not willing to accept that. Look at out focus on the team sale. I'm sure the players are focused no less on the sale than we are. After all, they are the ones that may have to move, etc.

I like Chuck Hayes but he really shouldn't be talking. He should consider himself to be extremely blessed to have a multi million dollar NBA contract because, frankly, he should be playing in the Chinese league.

Chuck Hayes can be an excellent role player, he can lock people down in the low post, he isn't worthless. But if you put him next to another undersized player for big minutes it's not going to look pretty on the boards.

He's obviously not someone you'd want to start for you, but worthless?

I'm not sure we can use youth as a reason for failure any longer. Certainly it comes into play, but of itself alone, its just not an excuse.

As you can see, the Thunder are considerably younger than the Kings, but they're also considerably better. By the way, the current age of the Warriors is 25.2 years of age. So they're younger as well, and better. So what is it? Youth, Talent, or lack there of, or coaching? Or a combination of all three? The truth is, there are teams younger than the Kings, and they're also better, some considerably better, than the Kings. So I don't think youth has anything to do with it at this point. So either we lack talent, or we have a coach that doesn't know how to use the talent we have. There is a third choice by the way. And its that we have talent, but a lot of it doesn't compliment one another, and no coach would be able to have success with this group.

I do think there's some truth to the last scenario, but I also think that a good coach would get more wins out of this group. How many is anyone's guess. Purely subjective! As to the question you were responding to, the answer is, yes, I think some of the players are still trying to do what Smart asks. Cousins implied as much with his post game comments. But I think for the rest of the players, they're looking beyond the end of this season, and see the remaining games as an audition for the rest of the league. As I said in another post, expect to see a lot of one on one basketball. Think about it for a moment. Your I. Thomas, and you have no guaranteed contract for next season. Don't you think there's going to be a huge impulse to show off what you've got? Even at the expense of the team? He knows that Cousins and Evans will get their big payday, but he's guaranteed nothing beyond this season.
