Here is an interesting video I found of Karl talking about his practice, offense etc in a lecture format.
Also,
George Karl Coach of the Year press conference that gives us a better idea of his history and personality.
Karl seems to emphasize all of the things the Kings are weak at. That includes defense, fast breaks, playing offense with urgency, and preparation for tough situations. He has been around and has the resume. Malone made major strides, but I think Karl has a good chance to go beyond what he started.

It is realistic to think that Karl can pass Don Nelson and become the winningest coach of all time with 4 seasons of 52 wins average with us.

It's realistic to think we average 52 wins per season?
You truly think that with this roster.. we can win 60 games if everything goes well? You're clearly an optimist. With the roster as is I see 50 wins as the absolute max and that's if it includes a miracle. I think we just have too many holes.Yes, if the team buys in, we have the talent to do so. Honestly, you need about 52 wins in the west in order to finish in the top 4 or 5 seed and thats not even a guarantee. If EVERYTHING goes well, we may even have a 60 win season. But 52 wins is not unrealistic if we use the second half of this season to start gelling as a team and try out some of the offense and defense.

Sounds like Karl wants to or needs to rely on his assistant coaches more than ever. I'd be surprised if he doesn't retain at least one of current Kings assistants as least for duration of this season.
You don't bring in Karl if you want to tank the season. This team needs to build confidence and trust that they can win more than it needs a hit or miss draft pick.let's hope he sticks around the entire four years....no more head coaching changes for a little while. Next need to worry about tanking the season strong and keeping that top 10 pick because this draft is filled with big men we can use on this roster.

Heck. you know, playing spoiler can be pretty fun too.
I hope that's what the rest of the season is all about.

I doubt it.
We were on pace for 49 wins until Cousins went out. Remember we had that long stretch of favorable schedule after coming out decent from our toughest opening schedule of games. Of course things have to go right and we have to make a couple of moves here and there for role players. But we can get there if things go right. It's no longer impossible.
I don't think it is impossible to win 52 games. The problem is averaging 52 games over 4 years. It probably has happened but off the top of my head, I don't remember it. Maybe LA.
Him talking about his greatest influence being Dean Smith in that COY pressor
He definitely had a lot on his mind this week

Karl talked about passing drills in practice. That will be key to our ball movement as the lack of it has been one of the main reasons why we lose games.
As far as assistant coaches, who are the top ones available for Karl right now?
Surely you remember our best Kings teams, between the years of 2000-2005. We won 55, 61, 59, 55, 50 games in those 5 consecutive seasons. It can be done here in Sacramento with a very good coach and some talent that comes together
