Garcia - in the lineup?

Where does he fit? In front of who....no one, that's who!

He should not get minutes over Omri or Greene. I hope the organization has moved on. He's a good shooter, but its bad enough we have 2 extra skinny SG'S. Compared to nba standards. I think garcia will be traded with nocioni.

You can never have too many shooters as proven by the fact that when Omri and Noce have an off night, there is no one else there to pick up the slack. You also fail to mention that Cisco brings his defensive skills, tenacity, and leadership to a young young team that needs it whereas Nocioni provides essentially nothing other than airballed shots and frustrating turnovers at the moment. In addition, Cisco is another ballhandler who can take the pressure off of Reke and our bipolar PG's (you ever notice how Beno and Sergio either have really good games or crappy games that make you question their ablity to feed themselves and nothing in between).

And why shouldn't he get minutes over Omri or Donte? Production dictates minutes and Westphal is a pretty clear practitioner of the go-with-the-flow substitution pattern.

If anything, Nocioni and Martin (with the possible addition of Beno) are the players most likely to be shipped off.

Oh no. Anybody who interferes with the development time of our young SFs needs to just stay away and go workout with some exercise balls or something.

I wasn't saying that he should go ahead of them. It seemed as if the OP had somehow decided that Cisco is completely ll-suited for this team (whch he is definitely not). We pretty much know that Cisco is going to be the back up 2/1 for us, which is (sort of) not the position that Casspi and Greene play (although Donte has shown the potential to slide to the two).

It just seemed that the OP had the assumption that Garcia is going to be the skinny SG equivalent to Sean May for our team, which will most likely not be the case.

Someone does need to be moved from the glut of 2/3s that we have but I think that Cisco should be among the last of those on the trade list. (Noce and K-Mart seem to be on our collective trade lists.) Let's at least give the kds a chance to play together before we pass judgement.

Sisco should be part of the future with this team. He's still young that can play multiple positions and has an all around game not to mention he brings energy, excitement, leadership, hustles after loose balls, fearless, not afraid to take clutch shots, not afraid of contact and whatever else you can think of. I would like Noc traded but Westphaul should move him to pf and let Sisco, Greene and Casspi rotate at the sf and sg positions of course one of them coming off the bench for Kevin and the other coming off the bench for whoever gets the start.

PG Tyreke 38mins/Beno 10mins
SG Kevin 38mins/Beno 7mins/ Garcia 10mins/ Greene 7mins
SF Garcia 7mins/Casspi 17mins/Greene 10mins
Give more minutes to whomever is starting and less minutes to whomever is struggling.

Garcia should be on Sergio's level. Omri and Greene are potential starters for this team. No way is Garcia a starter. So off of that POTENTIAL fact, he should not recieve more minutes than either of our young stars

garcia is way better than sergio. he can at least shoot and defend.. plus garcia brings that leadership and passion.

Thats just rubbish!

Garcia is not perfect but he is absolutely our best role player at the SG. He can handle 3 positions, does a bit of everything but is not exceptional at anything. A jack of all trades, master of none.

There is NOTHING wrong with role players. Absolutely nothing! And Garcia is just about the most perfect role player we have on the roster to pair with Reke. You can't have a team of 5 all-stars who all need their shots.

Garcia will get his minutes and he has generally produced well when given the minutes. Sure he has brainn fades but so do most players. Every player is prone to brain freezes.

Garcia brings a lot of good stuff to the table for him to be burried at the end of the bench as a towel waver. He is all energy and leadership and happens to have the type of game that is a perfect fit next to Reke.

Whatever happens, Garcia won't be traded this year. He is a BYC player and it would be next to impossible to trade him.

To trade a BYC player you need to find someone with enough cap space to absorb the contract and the only two teams with cap space as far as I know are us and the Grizzlies. So a trade is not happening.

And I thought I was the founding member of the start Garcia club :D

I've already said it but I too like starting Garcia at the 2 and Greene at the 3, gives us a secondary ball handler and a ton of defensive hustle. Casspi would still get plenty of minutes so long as we cleared space for those 3 to play the bulk of the minutes.

In theory, it would seem like Garcia is the perfect guy to match up with Evans. Garcia is the best ball handler and creator on the team that would still allow Evans to have the mismatch on opposing teams PG's. If Kmart is the starting two, We'll be seeing a lot of point guards on him instead of Reke. Kmart, being more of a jumpshooter, would benefit less having the smaller man on him.

However, I have felt for the past 2 season that Garcia would be a consistent 6th man of the year threat on a decent team. His ability to play 3 spots ( PG in very rare situations, but it does show his versatility ) He is a sweet shooter, and he has shown the ability to hit clutch shots. Great energy/leaderdship guy and above average on D. Another great quality he has is that he can start or come off the bench. This can effect some players (See John Salmons) but Garcia plays the same way no matter where he starts the game. If we did trade martin, I would be very happy with a Casspi, Greene, Garcia rotation at the 2 and 3. It gives u everything you want. All the guys can shoot, all of them are veratile in there own way, all of them can play some D. And hopefully Casspi and/or Greene with develope into a *Star*.

Are you crazy??? The only person on Sergio's level with the Kings is Sean May! Plus, it's a bit too early to be calling Greene and Casspi stars. While our team needs stars to win, it also needs role players. MJ and Pippen were the stars in Chicago, but they also had Randy Brown, Horace Grant, Ron Harper, Tony Kukoc, Bill Wennington, and Steve Kerr.

If Garcia's return means less minutes and shots for Nocioni, then thats fine with me. Nocioni is one of those, do a little bit of everything players, but not real good at any of the things he does. He's not unlike a lot of the Hispanic players in the league, in that they have a lot of pride in their game. And most of them are tough minded. It's a cultural thing. Trust me, living in Mexico I have first hand experience. And thats not a criticism. But at times, with certain players it can be to their detriment. I think thats the case with Nocioni at times.

The only thing I have against that is that if you sit Nocioni, we are basically up a **** creek without a conoe because of his contract......it becomes unmoveable.

Personally, i prefer for us to somehow play him into form so that we can ship him off for some expirings or a smaller contract that is also shorter. If we burry Nocioni to the end of the bench he becomes the next KT just in time when the original KT leaves the building.
