[Game] Game 75: Kings v. Pelicans, 4/3/15 - 7pdt, 10edt

...I know PDA/Vivek love going after big names to make a splash, but we really only need a few solid vets.

From what Vlade was saying in the pre-game, I think we may be very happy with the draft and player acquisition philosophy this year.

Am I the only one who doesn't think this Pelicans team is a playoff team? They lack a real #1 scoring option... Yea AD is the best PF in the game, but they don't have a clear cut #1 a go to guy. It's split up between Tyreke or AD. I don't know..maybe AD just struggled when he plays us?

No, it's definitely like we've all been saying. Anthony Davis isn't a go-to player quite yet. Give him a few years and, sure, he'll probably be there but, as of now, no.

Pretty sure this makes Cuz the only player, in the last 30 years at least, to have back to back 24/20/10 games.

Until I read your promised transcribing of the interview, I'll take your word for it. :p

Oh? I missed that. What'd he say?

I haven't transcribed it yet, but he essentially said that they're going to get Rudy and Cousins the help they need to reach their full potential. He said they're going to bring the excitement back to Sacramento (meaning playoff ball) because the fans deserve it. I'll try and post the text of the interview when I get a chance.

I disagree. We haven't seen it in games against the Kings (as I said, we've done a good job on him all season long), but he has taken over as a go-to guy in many other games this season. Obviously not a top go-to player, but he is already there.

Under Karl, Cousins is sooooooooooooooo much better at outlet passes. That's pace. That's winning basketball. It always frustrated me that we didn't see the long outlet passes after a block or rebound. Instead, we saw dribble, dribble, dribble up the court. Those days are gone. Cousins just needs a better supporting cast and more time for Karl to have an effect.

I'd imagine the list of guys who've ever done that is a short one. Probably Wilt, Kareem, maybe Hakeem, Shaq, and Moses and really struggling to think of anyone else who could even come close.

Shaq only had one career game with at least ten assists.

lol no. Miller had nothing to do with it today..it was all Ben bring aggressive and Cuz finding him in good situations.

Miller feels invisible today..

We're just not going bto see eye to eye today. Yes Ben was more aggressive, but Dre gave him the ball within the flow of the offense without hesitation.

It's not that he's better, it's that he's getting more opportunities.

Karl is having the wing on the weakside break when a shot goes up. Cuz usually boards strong side, so he's got an immediate cherry picking outlet cross court. When it's available that is.

Even though we lost, this was an amazing great game. The atmosphere in the reason looked WOW. Best all season.. I think Ray played a hell of a game even though Tyreke put up huge numbers.

AD is scared of JT.. I'm convinced.. AD did all his damage vs. Williams.

Cousins goes for 60....

...combined pts, rebounds, assists, blocks, steals.

If my fuzzy number crunching of the box score is correct....Cuz had....62! (combined points, rebounds, assists, blocks, and steals)

Not trying to toot my own horn with the obnoxious self quote. Really just trying to point out how rediculous it is that one can have such high expectations to see that kind of game from a player.....And actually UNDERESTIMATE the end result. It is just plain stupid what Cousins is doing right now. You couldnt replicate this on NBA2k in EASY MODE!

The guy is just unreal.

And let us not forget he is BARELY entering his prime! One could argue that he is still a year or two AWAY from his prime.

Anyways....I'm gushing.....This is embarrassing. I'll stop.

HOFer!

Not impressed with AD. Take away the lob passes and transition buckets and you have yourself a 15ppg scorer at best. Too much hype! He does have youth on his side though so plenty of time to add to his game. Hope he does.

That's slightly unfair. Davis appears to be pretty beast-like against any team not named Sacramento. Judging him based just on how he plays against us would be like judging Evans just based on how he plays against us.

Good to see Vivek is really pushing his star big man...

I honestly do not understand why people seem to have a problem with this. The entire country of Israel pretty much stayed up for opening night when Omri came to the Kings. It's a big deal for a country with about 1/6 of the world's population. Let them enjoy their moment. It's not like it takes anything away from anybody else.

I do judge him against us because of that reason. Many say that Davis and Cousins are the two best young bigs in the game, and I agree. If I'm facing the guy that is the other part of that equation, I wanna show up and ball hard. I want him one on one. You see none of that. Cousins lives for this kind of ****. The bigger the name the better. It's a personal choice because I greatly enjoy watching Cousins play and I love his style of play. Davis.. not so much. I just can't get all goo goo gaga over him like everyone else.
