[Game] Game 45: Kings @ Raptors - 1/28/15

I swear we need to get the ball to JT more. I know that sounds like insanity but ever since he had the double double game I've changed my mind about him. I think we need more than Cuz, Gay, and Collison taking all the shots anyway.

No it IS insane. JT will fool you, some games he's a solid player the next he looks like he doesn't belong in the league.

Jerry - Shut up. Just shut up. Patrick Patterson is not one of the best stretch 4's in the game. Period.

God I am getting tired of the Jerry Reynolds "NBA players not wearing Kings jersey love fest."

Patrick Patterson has improved a lot. His three point shot is almost automatic and for a big man that's really impressive. I'm sure him and Cousins enjoyed being pro teammates for a little while but the Raptors clearly love having him.

To defend Jerry, perhaps he thinks he is helping those of us who don't follow these other teams and their players might need info about them.

So basically we have now decided that if the opposing player steps outside the little painted arch on the floor we (the Kings) cannot/will not defend them?

I don't think he's improved. Just being used better in a system which fits him.

The issue I see with Jerry's constant love affair with Kings who've moved on is he never attempts to point out why they're having success in their new environment compared to their misuse here.

It's as if how and why players have success in certain systems is beyond him. Not surprising since he's a former Kings coach. Oh the irony.

This season he is. Very, very few PFs with a significant number of attempts that have a better 3pt%. And before his slump he was damn near automatic. He's the one guy that was in the Gay trade that I really wish we still had.

EDIT: Among NBA players 6'8" or taller who have taken 60 or more threes this season (a pretty low bar of less than 1.5 per game) Patterson has the second highest 3pt% behind Harrison Barnes who occasionally plays the 4 but is primarily regarded as a SF.

Next is Serge Ibaka. Both are over 40% with more than 150 attempts. Ryan Anderson on the year is at 35%

Off topic, but I'm surprised Gay didn't ask to change his number to 22. 22 was his preferred choice in number since he wore it in Memphis and Toronto, but when he got to Sacramento, it was worn by Isaiah Thomas. Now no one wears it.
