Got two fouls in the first. Still, you'd think he'd get back in the game but Malone might have been a bit cheesed by Cuz getting a tech on the bench after the two fouls.
Malone did the right thing we were not getting blown away and it means he has 4 fouls to use in the 2nd half, if the game was getting out of hand than you have to put him back in otherwise since he has not shown he can't play without fouling it's a good move to save him for the 2nd.

I think its more of a case of saving Cuz for the second half! Team did a good enough job without him so there was no big urgency to bring him back in!

Someone on a Spurs forum:

"and give the Kings some props, they're playing at their peak now..."

lol, I hope he means our overall season and not that last run in the 2nd quarter. We've played better basketball this season.

No, I think Malone was pissed. DMC has to learn consequences and the relationship between Malone and Cousins is strong enough that Malone can make his point. My best guess is Cousins will be in full beast mode in the second half.

You put him back in, and Spurs start going at him, plus he was really agitated. Team played well with Rudy and Darren leading offense and everyone was alert on D, so Malone took a calculated risk. Now Boogie can come in and have 4 fouls to play out 16-18 minutes - Kings need him at the end of the game.

45-38 is not a bad score for the half. Holding the Spurs to 38 is definitely not bad. Having the bench contribute is also not bad.

Also out-rebounded the Spurs 20-18 and out-assisted the Spurs 11-9 and held the Spurs to 39% from the floor. All good numbers against a top team.

I personally I would have been pissed and normally Cuz doesn't pee me off.

"pee?"

Aside from playing Williams, Malone held his own against the best in the NBA in the first half, having D-Will guard Diaw is just silly but. The last thing you want is Diaw besting someone in the post and making passes from the post.

Btw, Malone's substitutions were spaced out MUCH better. There was definitely a noticeable impact having a starter on the floor (almost) at all times.
I think the main thing was that Sessions and Nik only played 4 minutes each. We can do that at times but asking Collison and Ben to play 40 minutes each game would be a tough thing to do

I just wish we could acquire a legit PF, that could move Thompson to the bench. I know that Reggie Evans is the favorite son of a lot of people around here but, as much as I've been anti-Landry, I'd keep him over Evans for the offense. I don't like Evans as a starter at all, and I like the idea of Thompson and Landry as the backups way more than Evans and Landry.
Amir Johnson? :) His role has been minimized this year. Millsap and Monroe would be nice options too. FAs at the end of this year

I feel like Charlie Brown trying to kick the football. After the Mavs loss I said I wouldn't watch the Memphis game. After the Memphis debacle I said I wouldn't watch tonight. And yet, here I am.
