Future starting lineups

DeMoN

Bench
How about when Noc comes back, have JT at center to start, with Greene at PF and Noc at SF, or the other way around, and then have Hawes come off the bench to C with JT rotating to PF.

I just hate Hawes starting and Donte NOT starting. Any ideas?

Don't like it. All of Donte;s recent success has been at the 3. Start him at the 4 and its a different ballgame. Also don't like JT at the 5. Donte played great, but I want Noc to get his spot back on friday, and I want Donte to continue to produce consistently before putting him in the starting lineup.

just need to get a 3rd talented big body. That's a much better idea than shifting our lineup so that everyone is small for their position.

Evans at PG, Greene at SF, JT at PF are all full size or above full size and give us an advantage. Why take it away by moving them down a spot?

Well, the Okafor or Dalember trade talk is starting to sound better all the time. But that belongs on another thread.

I think Greene should be in the starting 5 with Noc coming off the bench. Casspi should continue to get minutes, he has looked great so far

Green's a SF, that's where his advantage lies. No more shifting guys up to make them small and weak. At SF Donte has a chance to be a real handful, and with the rapid development of his defensive game -- today he did a nice job at times on John Salmons, who is a swingman with a wicked game off the bounce -- there really is no reason not to play him at his natural position. If he could just keep this up, big if, but if he could, we could have just a prohibitive physical advantage at the PG and SF positons. Mismatch heaven as both guys are emerging as two of our best defenders too.

Yes, yes and yes about the two best defenders. I'm greedy. Let's add to this "core" of defenders. We need to make up for decades of softness.

Donte at the 2? Westphal discussed it in the preseason briefly. I know it's not ideal, but that would be one big lineup...
I would rather see Donte back up the 2 than the 4. I think he has the quickness to guard most sg's, and his size will help. I also didn't realize until recently that Donte appears to have the ability to break his man down off the dribble, and create in a half court setting. He's definately not great at it, but the potential is there.

If Donte can continue his rate of improvement, he can be a really good SF to pair with Tyreke. This is assuming that Tyreke improves as a PG.

Hopefully somehow get Okafor and you have a pretty big line up

Okafor
JT
Donte
Martin
Evans

Everyone 6'6 or over :D
