There is much truth in that. I think for some, satisfaction could only come from a championship. My, how things have changed, when I left Sacto to Oregon in the summer of 1996, I would have been satisfied with a road win.

Well, it is much better this way than for example the Hawks or the Bulls and hopefully very soon the LAL

My problem, however, is that I've seen plenty of the arrogance, but none of the insight.

In order to be "insightful" one must do more than point out a problem; one must also offer a solution. I've yet to see you do that.

Like I said earlier, that's what I (speaking for myself) need to see. The people on this board have given you much more of an opportunity to show some of that insight than they would have if anyone thought you were being nasty. If that was the case, your thread wouldn't have gotten 60+ replies.

Ummm - the first thing i ever said was the chicago kids might be the answer. on the first page of this thread I suggested a trade, which Brick pounced on despite the fact it would help the team.

Your Chicago and Memphis trades are laughable at best, they are not answers, they are statements meant to incite the board.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I've been viewing this thread mostly for the sheer comedic value it has. That last line about the area code, pure comedy. I really like it when LA residents get all uppity about where they live, never once even thinking about where most of their water comes from or what we do to it before it gets there We may seem a little terse, but that's mostly because us uninsighful hicks have already covered this issue in some depth, what with it being a recurring area (athleticism) we speak (or type) about addressing every year. Your scenarios have been covered before.
Speaking of athleticism, your hometown lakers are looking very athletic this year.

Without even getting into whether or not that trade would actually help the team, an impossible solution is NOT a solution. Not in basketball, not in math, not in assembling a puzzle...

Hell, I'd love to trade Greg Ostertag and, I dunno, Erik Daniels for Michael Jordan, Dennis Rodmad, Jerry West and Larry Bird all in their prime -- but it ain't gonna happen. Throwing out a bunch of names of people that you'd like to get (and/or get rid of) does NOT make your desired player swapping into a VIABLE trade scenario. Putting together some sort of trade that might actually work takes a certain amount of skill and a certain amount of research. Personally, I don't have the time to research all of the facts -- which is why you'll never see me starting a thread such as yours. Which, again, brings me back to the point that no one will (or should) take you seriously, despite what a nifty guy you keep telling us you are.
