Francisco Garcia

Where will he fit when he comes back ?

With players like Omri , Noc, Greene and even Udoka stepping up we seem to have a good rotation at the 2/3.

I may be getting ahead of myself but this feels like a very deep team and it may seem like a good problem to have but we still got Garcia on the books and we did recently give him a new contract.

Edit : minutes wise who will take the hit ?

I understand Cisco won't be back until March. Then he will or will not fit in with the season almost over. Who knows, he could get traded, Noc could be gone by then, who the heck knows?

Cisco would be a good fit in the starting line up because of his game (jack of all trades master of none).

He can shoot, handle, pass and plays solid D, all the qualities of a role player you want next to Tyreke.

I see Cisco and Omri interchangeable. Both are intense competitors and both play equally well coming off the bench or starting. Udoka is a nice role player but both Cisco and Omri are better than him.

I still see Nocioni getting traded by the deadline.

I thought it was end of January?

But if it is March, yeah, it will be a crapshoot. Almost never see a guy who has been injured all season trades at the deadline, so he'd still be here at least. Casspi and Donte of course will not be moved barring a mega deal. Udoka is a 12th man type normally and so not a factor. So Cisco's role would really depend on whether Noc (likely to be gone) or Kevin (less likely) are still arund ahead of him. He's quite versatile thoguht, can play 2 spots, and has always fit the 6th man role quite well, so unless Geoff has just compeltely sat on his hands and kept just everybody, Cisco is a guy who can fill in the cracks.

The date of Garcia's surgery was Oct. 10 and Bee article says out for "at least four months" - meaning earliest would be Feb. 10, 2010. But I heard Grant say recently that he's not expected back until March. He did say that Martin might be back earlier than expected, around end of December, but more likely just after the new year.
