ESPN Reports Webber To Retire

Doesn't surprise me that he FINALLY decided to call it a career. No question he would have lasted a couple of more seasons if he had not suffered than near career ending knee injury. All the best to CWebb!

should have done it when he was bought out by the Sixers.
His career ended in Dallas in 2003

The Detroit run was worthwhile.

Had a feeling that this might be headed this way after he took so long off and then was down for so long during the stretch run. Well, at some point here in a few years there should be a couple of jersey retirement ceremonies, or maybe do them together. Assuming of course the team is still in Sacto - woould suck if he and Vlade got retired in front of a different fanbase.

Webber had a good career and did some great things for the Kings. I think most people would agree that Webber's knee collectively hurt all of us Kings fans almost as much as it hurt him.

I pretty much agree.

His career reads like a Greek tragedy to me. Big hopes followed by tough start in the league, followed by some great years in Sac, followed by tragic knee injury.

I would love to see Webber's and Vlade's jerseys raised together. *sniff*

(If it happens in front of another fanbase, I will be soooo sick at heart. That would be major suckage. :()

ALL THE BEST TO YOU CHRIS WEBBER AND THANKS AGAIN FOR THE WONDERFUL MEMORIES! :D

It would be nice to have some members of that team back at the raising of Webber's jersey if that happens...

Its a shame his career ended the way it did ... would have loved to see him go out on top. Despite my many criticisms of him, I've always liked C-Webb. Wish him the best in whatever he pursues now.

I loved watching Chris on the Kings. Those were some epic series.
It is too bad he couldn't get along with Chauncy. I think we could have had a heck of a finals run with C-Webb.

Thanks for the memories Chris.

There have been times in my life as a Kings fan that are so etched into my memory that I can actually remember (even at my advanced age) exactly where I was and what I was doing. Among them are:

1. The day Webber officially announced he was re-signing with the Kings.
2. The day Webber crumpled to the floor in Dallas.
3. The night the Webber trade started to circulate and we learned it wasn't a rumor, but was actually true.

Chris Webber was our true warrior King. I will never forget him and I will always be grateful to him for what he - and the rest of THE TEAM - did for this Kings fan.

THANK YOU, CHRIS WEBBER!!!!

Thank You Chris!!!!

The only thing left is for his jersey to hang in the rafters. I agree I would love to see both jerseys go up at the same time.

So many great memories....
