EC Finals: (2) Orlando vs. (4) Boston

Superman and his sidekicks match up very well against The Big Tic.. Thr.. uh... Four.

Can Rondo propel the C's to the championship round against staggering odds? Or is it still the Magic's turn to try and beat down the dudes who wear the western crown?

I'll go Magic 4-2.

Dwight is a monster, and I think he will propel his team to a series win, but the Celts are obviously game and it should at least be interesting, if anything else.
 
It will be interesting. Perkins has notoriously been able to control Howard like no other. Orlando has a lot of athletes though, and that scares me. They have been HOT too. I think Orlando probly wins the series, but I dont think it will be because of a dominating Dwight Howard.
 
C's got this. Perkins will do a good job on Dwight and VC will not play as well against a legit team who plays D. C's in 6.
 
BOS and ORL split the 1st 4 games. ORL pulls out game 5 and BOS wins the next 2. Yes, they close-out game 7 in ORL.

I'd like to see a couple of different teams in the finals, and Phoenix v. Orlando would be interesting, but I just don't think Orlando is gonna be able to get past Boston. If the Magic do pull it off, however, I'll be very happy to root for Matty Barnes. :D
 
Definitely rooting for the Magic. Can't stand Boston since the winning went to the heads of both the team (Garnett's intense/angry shtick has gone too far) and their fans (where were all the Garnett jersey wearing fans at ARCO before 2008?). Perkins and Big Baby are also among my least favorite players in the league.

But it's not just rooting against the Celtics. Dwight's very likeable, and of course they have J-Will and Matt Barnes, as VF pointed out. I might even root for Ryan Anderson, although he did go to Oak Ridge and Cal, which are two big strikes in my book.
 
Wow. This really is shaping up to be Boston's last hurrah. What an unsightly beat down by the C's so far.

I called Boston to win it all at the beginning of the year. Then they were injury ridden and played like crap in the 2nd half of the year. Now theyve rounded into championship form late in the playoffs. Im confident Boston will win this series. I hope Boston makes alot of 7akers fans very angry and sad.
 
Why would anyone think that Dwight Howard would matchbup well against a team with full sized bigs? He's a horrible offensive player and it showed. Same thing with the lakers in the finals last year. Maybe Cleveland and Lebron weren't really underperforming. Maybe Boston is just that good. It's crazy how they struggled in the playoffs more in '08 than in this year so far. I hope Boston wins it all and although I hope the lakers don't reach the finals most likely they will anyways so when that beat down comes to frution I wanna laugh at the lakers fans who wanted cle out because they fear lebron and what legacy he will have. And they rooted for the celtics, a team that humiliated them 2 years ago. I wanna tell them, "you got what you wished for!"

Exactly. They've got three 7-footers (w/18 fouls to use) to guard Dwight's questionable offensive creativity.

Ask for it Kobe & you shall receive. Just be patient, he'll be in L.A. to handle you guys shortly.

Coward?

If anything is takes heart to come back the way Celtics have come back after being written off by everyone as being too old, especially Garnett who came from his injury and has really given a lift to the C's.

The Celtics are a good team. They play hard against the Cavs and they are playing well against Magic.

I just hope that they can win it all again.

Really? Ray Allen? On the contrary Ray seems like one of the classiest NBA players out there. Not sure what about him makes him a jerk.

At least I can look forward to the Boston bandwagon growing in a week or two which will sadly generate much hate further down the road for the city I consider my second hometown.

After the Bruins debacle I'm not counting any chickens for Boston though.
