Andre Iguodala

Freak athlete. Do-it-all type player. Good defender. No real weakness. Perfect pick at this point.

Iggy gives Magic a new toy to play with. The thought of Magic connecting with Iggy on alley-oops is enough to make you drool.

Iguodala is a rising star, and right now he is pretty great. He'll get you 20ppg, 6rpg, 6apg, 2spg. They're great numbers. He will be my intensity and hustle off the bench.

Some achievements:
Has played the full 82 games in four seasons, while playing 76 in the other season of his career. Extremely durable.
Has finished in the top 10 in steals every year he's been in the league.
Led the league in minutes played 08/09.
Led the Sixers to the playoffs 3 times.
2006 Rookie Challenge MVP.

Jason Terry

Was stuck with a couple different players for this pick but went with Terry because of his ability to provide energy, clutch shooting and defense off the bench.

He will rival the likes of Bobby Jackson, Shane Battier, etc in terms of production off the bench.

He is also the reigning NBA 6th man of the year.

In the 2000-01 season, Terry led the Hawks averaging 19.7 points and leading the club in steals, assists and free throws made. He played 3,089 minutes.

Later in is his career, was a vital piece of the Mavericks Western Conference Champion team.

He is regarded as one of the fastest players in the league, and is an elite 3 point shooter. He often pulls up for jump shots off the dribble, making him difficult to be guarded. He has great ability to come up with steals which leads to many easy fast break points.

Terry is very durable while he can play both Guard positions and he is reliable - he has played at least 74 games every year during his career. He is also a career 45 % shooter.

I don't think the time should start when the PM was sent. It's more logical to start the clock when the previous person posts his/her pick. The PMs are courtesies, not official notifications - especially since we have two-on-the-clock...

Just my two cents, of course, but it's a lot easier to keep track of time elapsed when you use something everyone in the draft can actually see - the time of the post before.

I need another big man for my team. Someone who will bring toughness, passing, rebounding, and shooting. I've got a running juggernaut with plenty of shooters, athletic drivers, and shot blockers, now I need another facilitator. This player can stroke the outside shot with the best of them (he has great 3-point range), sets wicked screens to open up his teammates, and facilitates from the high post to find open cutters and shooters for easy shots. His outlets are superb, and his rebounding is good enough to get the job done off the bench. Plus, he's not afraid to use his fouls. He's a great change of tempo player that will hit the opponent from the outside and set up the ferocious wing players after the opponent has been pummeled down low by Dwight Howard, Pau Gasol, LeBron, and Alonzo Mourning. With my 13th choice I select:

Brad Miller - C 7'0" 260 Lbs.

A 2 time All Star, I'm taking the Brad Miller from 2002-2004. Remember that tough guy who could play center or power forward, would always knock down that wide open jump shot, would get on the ground and lay his body on the line for his team, would pass like the ball had eyes, and would set the most vicious screens ever.

I thought about picking Zydrunas Ilgauskas or Mehmet Okur here for their shooting, but I liked Brad's peak defense much better, his passing is superior, shooting is also very good, and he is a much better fit for a running fast break team with his outlet ability and court vision.

So I figure with my 12th man, I'm gonna need another energy guy to come in and give this team a boost if his name is called. Hustle, block shots, and rebound. Someone who knows his role in this league. Some character issues but like I said before, Coach Brown knows what to do with those guys.

Well, I swear I have changed my mind on this one 3 times in the last hour, but enough of that -- I have long had this spot reserved for a shootist, and few people in history have ever been as prolific in that role as this man:

Dale Ellis

The third most prolific three point shooter in NBA history (only Ray Allen and Reggie Miller have hit more), Dale was a career 40% shooter from beyond the arc. Nor was it just from outside that he was accurate -- he was a career 48% shooter overall, and this was a jump shooter. In his best season he averaged 27.5pts...on 50.1% shooting, and 47.8% shooting from the three point line (for comparison Glen Rice's best year was 26.8pts on 47.7% shooting and 47.0% from three). Not surprisingly Ellis was an All Star that year and poured in 27 pts in the All Star game just for good measure. He had the size at a well built 6'7" to swing between SF and SG, and in his prime wasn't a bad defender either. He spent the latter half of his lengthy career (his shooting kept him in the league until he was 39) coming off the bench as a shooting specialist, which fits my bench player preference -- he knows how to play that role. But in his prime this was a Top 10 scorer in the NBA and one of the best distance shooters to ever lace them up.

My Pick:
Eddie House - PF

The PF thing is a joke btw . I know, he probably shouldn't be drafted, but he won't get playing time anyway unless a few guys get injured. Here's the thing though. He can come in for 5 minutes and pour in 5 or 6 threes, energize the home crowd, stun the other team, and then poof, he's gone, right back on the bench waving that towel. Great team guy, only really good for one thing on offense, and at times can be a pesky defender. Hey, if the defending champs want him on the court in crunch time in a playoff game, then the 12th pick in the 2009 fantasy dream team draft he is.

stats in this case are meaningless, but hey why not
in 17 minutes a game, he shot 39.6% from range, and in his best season, usually hit about 2.

My Pick:
Jack Sikma - Asst. Coach

My idea for an assistant coach was to get a guy who would maximize the talents of my big men. Who better than Sikma? Right now he works under Adelman in Houston, and he helped Yao out immensely, FINALLY turning him into a badass. You can see his work affecting other guys, like Louis Scola and Carl Landry, both of whom are quality players.

I don't think that's Mr. Sikma, but it was in the google search. hahah

Sam Jones

The greatest winner in NBA history after the great Bill Russell. Jones has 10 Championships from a 12 year career. He was an integral part of the Celtics team that dominated.

I wanted a clutch, experienced winner to come off the bench in crunchtime. This guy is just that.

He was known for his quickness and game-saving shots, especially during the NBA Playoffs, that inspired his famous nickname "Mr. Clutch".

Jones was known as a clutch scorer, and scored over 15,000 points in his career. He participated in five All-Star Games, and is usually recognized as one of the best point guards of his generation.

Jones was named to the All-NBA Second Team three straight years (1965–67) and he played on ten championship teams (1959-66 and 1968-69) — a total exceeded only by teammate Bill Russell in NBA history.

Jones’ perfect form when shooting a jump shot, along with his great clutch shooting led opponents to nickname him "The Shooter". At 6-foot-4, Jones was the prototype of the tall guard who could run the floor, bang the boards and had a rangy offensive game that gave opponents fits.

He was named to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1984. In 1970 he was named to the NBA 25th Anniversary Team, and in 1996, he was named as One of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History.

Great shooter, clutch, one of the best PGs of his generation, filled the stat sheet. Came off the bench before in his career. I'll take that.
