I just tired to add Kerr to the board, and Ive apparently overgone the 12000 letter post.

Could a mod break the team draft boards into 2 or 3 different ones I can edit when needed?

Thanks!

Bricklayer? Are you here? Do you want to handle it??? I don't want us both to try and do it as I'd probably end up losing all the posts...

:p

Okay, it's done...and the links still go to the right posts.

I want that souvenir!!!

:p

OK, since there's a run on coaches, all the best coaches are gone. It may seem strange, but I'm going to take an assistant coach before my head coach. There will still be capable head coaches in the next round as the run should have stopped.

My pick:

amd_thibodeau.jpg

Tom Thibodeau
This guy brings ferocious defense wherever he goes. He helped the Houston Rockets rank among the Top 5 in the league in scoring defense and field goal percentage defense from 2004 to 2007. Has helped his team finish in the league's Top 10 in team defense 15 times. Was assistant coach to the NY Knicks who made the Finals in 1999. During his tenure with the Knicks, he helped the team set a then-NBA record by holding 33 consecutive opponents under 100 points in the 00/01 season. All-Star assistant coach in 2000.

He helped the Celtics become the best defensive team in the league with his expertise in 07/08. Led the Celtics to the best rating in several different statistical defensive categories.

Now that I have my defensive coach, one of the GOAT, I can afford to get a good, not great, coach with a later pick.

I'm unsure what to do regarding my Bobby Jones pick as I obviously can't edit VF's post. I think I'll go ahead and post his picture and stats right now, as the original pick is buried in the middle. People won't have seen his stats or achievements.

This was my 6th round pick:

six_090306_jones_300.jpg

Bobby Jones

This guy can start or play as the 6th man. I'll most likely use him as my 6th man as he's won the 6th man award before. Jones was an absolute beast on the defensive end. He was not a dirty player, he did everything by hard work, hustle, determination, and a sheer will to give nothing but 100% every game.

From wiki:
Bobby Jones was one of the most admired defenders ever to wear an NBA uniform, as well as being one of the most virtuous. It was Jones’ stellar defense along with his other specialties such as leadership, that made him a standout sixth man. His only peer during the 1980s was the Boston Celtics' Kevin McHale.
Jones’s coaches used to marvel that he was so good at the things they had trouble getting many other players to do at all, such as block shots, move without the ball, hustle back on defense, tip passes, dive after loose balls, give up an open outside shot so a teammate could hit from inside—all the things that rarely, if ever, show up in a box score. With his long arms, lanky body, great leaping ability, and quick hands and feet, there seemed to be three of him on the court at the same time. Jones rarely threw the ball away or took an ill-conceived shot. His career field-goal percentage of .550 is among the highest ever for an NBA forward.

Julius Erving:
“He’s a player who’s totally selfless, who runs like a deer, jumps like a gazelle, plays with his head and heart each night, and then walks away from the court as if nothing happened.”

This guy could jump, too :
Twice he won the state high jump title, finishing second in his junior year to a prep named Bob McAdoo (also a member of my team :D). As a senior, Jones broke the state record by clearing the bar at a height of 6 feet, 8 inches.

I drafted Jones primarily for defense, although he gives you much more. Jones will have no problem troubling Kobe and Lebron. He was selected to the All-Defensive NBA First Team 8 straight times!

A few of his achievements:

4 Time All-Star
1982-83 Sixth Man of The Year Award (the first to ever win the award)
2 Time ABA All-Defensive First Team
8 Time NBA All-Defensive First Team
Led the ABA in FG% Twice
Led the NBA in FG% 1977-78 (58%)
One Time NBA Champion (1983)
His team never missed the Playoffs

In his best statistical year, Jones would put up 15ppg, 8.3rpg, 3.2apg, 2.3spg, 2bpg. He simply did what was needed to win and was a great character guy. AFAIC, I've got the steal of the draft! :p

Decided to go with a defensive stopper here, changing my mind. And as much as I dislike this guy, he's a great defensive player. So I'm taking:

SB-Bruce-Bowen-R-2.jpg

Bruce Bowen

8 NBA All-Defensive selections, and knows how to get under players skin. So with him and Oak on my team, I'll be shooting many technical free throws :)

Sidney Moncrief

Ah yes, poor Squid, overlooked once again. Leader of the great Bucks teams from the 80s who were perennially almost but not quite good enough to get over the hump in the Eastern Conference. Before having his career cut short by a degenerative knee condition Sidney was one of the best guards of the 80s, and one of the best defensive guards ever. When they invented the Defensive Player of the Year Award, The Squid won it back to back in its first two years. Jordan remarked about how he would harass you all game long every step of the way up the court. And during his too brief 5 year prime before his knees gave out Sidney was a major star on both ends of the court, averaging 20pts 5reb 5ast through those years, making the All Star team every year, the All NBA First or Second Team every year, and the All Defense First or Second team every year.

5x NBA All-Star (1982-86)
2x NBA Defensive Player of the Year (1983, 1984)
1x All-NBA First Team
4x All-NBA Second Team
4x NBA All-Defensive First Team
1x NBA All-Defensive Second Team
Milwaukee Bucks #4 retired

Hey Jespher. I'm going to make my own write up and stuff on Bosh if that is ok. You can delete that post.

Chris Bosh

nba_g_bosh_268x350.jpg

Chris Bosh is an amazing player that will bring leadership, scoring, intensity, shotblocking, and many other skills to the floor.

Since his NBA career began Bosh has emerged as one of the most established young stars in the league. In the process, he has become a four-time NBA All-Star, been named to the All-NBA team, appeared for the US national team (with whom he won a gold medal at the 2008 Olympics), and taken over former fan-favorite Vince Carter as the face and leader of the Raptors franchise. In the 2006–07 season, Bosh led the Raptors to their first NBA Playoffs berth in five years, and their first ever division title. He is Toronto's all-time leader in rebounds, blocks, double doubles, free throws made and attempted, and minutes played.

Bosh possesses excellent speed, athleticism, and ball handling for a player of his size. He is particularly noted for his ability to drive to the basket and finish strong or get to the free throw line—where he is also proficient—but he is also known for his well-developed jump shot. As the centerpiece of the Raptors' offence, when Bosh is double teamed, he is noted to unselfishly pass the ball to team mates who are in better shooting positions. Bosh has amazing shooting range for his size. In the 2007/08 season, Bosh shot 40% from 3 point range.

In terms of leadership, Bosh has always led by example. As the leader of the Raptors, he is not noted for being vocal on the court, preferring to maintain his quiet and humble demeanor but expecting his team mates to match his work ethic. However, Bosh is also known to deliver stern rebukes to team mates who make bad calls on the court. Comparisons have been made between him and Kevin Garnett due to their similar style of play and physique. Bosh was observed to have adopted a greater defensive dimension to his game after his stint with Team USA at the 2008 Olympics where they won the gold medal.

I draft

warriors.jpg

Coach Don Nelson

Known for his hot temper, brutal honesty, ridiculous player match-ups, and high-octane offensive schemes this top 10 coach of all time will fit perfectly with my high-scoring team. I got the individual defenders, so while Nelson won't quite be going over defensive plays day and night with my guys, I think the likes of Havlicek, Olajuwon, Pettit, and Paul can handle themselves on that end. Reggie....well, he'll try his hardest.

Thing is I'm pretty sure LL has been on since he came up in this draft -- no PM sent? And the other tardy miscreant is...VF21. :o (who to be fair has disappeared and may not have been on since that time)

Updates happening now

Mot to much to update though..
Lets pick it up again!

Another half round burst a span of 3 hours would be nice.

Sorry for the delay...Have somebody else in mind that I'm hoping gets back to me, but decided to go with the dead eye shooter this round.

John Paxson G
f8b9d94ead3f0fca.jpg

[yt=John Paxson in the clizutch]wZClfsq7B00[/yt]

Before there was Steve Kerr there was John Paxson. Maybe not as great as a 3 pt shooter but every bit as clutch. Paxson was a key role player in Chicago's first run of championships, none more memorable than the series against the Suns in which he nailed the 3 at the end of game 6 to not only win the game but win the title and put an end to whatever hopes Barkley had at getting a ring. Don't even try to double anywhere else on the floor cuz if you do John will burn you.
