Draft day trades?...

Has Petrie ever made a trade on draft day?...

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember him ever making a trade the day of the draft...ever.

I really do not want next years draft to be like last years. Watching all the ****y teams make trades to get better, while we sit with our thumbs... yeah, you get the picture.

Only one I recall was us trading away the rights to Dan Dickau back in '03 or '04.

That was the only move we need to make though because it was such a blockbuster deal.:D

Anyone think we could trade Brad to get a later pick or combine with ours and move up?

After this season, hellllllll yes.

He's playing awesome.
To be honest, I'm surprised teams didn't make offers for him this month.

Didn't the Kings trade for Mike Bibby on draft day? I am not 100% certain, but I thought they did. If not then, it was right around draft time.

Jason Williams and Nick Anderson were traded to Vancouver for Mike Bibby and Brent Price on June 27, 2001.

Petrie could make a trade just to up the "fun" factor for us devoted fans. Even if Hawes works out to be the center of our future, last years draft was a wee bit depressing. A trade for another young player or pick would also speed up this rebuilding and give our younger players more time.

Was actually a smart trade because we owed like 2 draft picks right? Didn't trading away Dickau (which was essentially a 2nd round pick since he was picked last in the first round) help us in that dept? We only owed that one pick in 03 or something after that right?

We owed a pick, and that got rid of that debt. Maybe it was a good thing to do, or just maybe we would have been better off with Carlos Boozer, who went 6 picks later.

I wonder if we, or anyone, has what Miami would want for the #1 pick. Michael Beasley would look great in a Kings uniform. Since they traded for Marion and have Wade and given their ages I wonder if we sent another veteran like Artest if they would give up the #1 since Marion plays PF and they're probably looking for a quick rebuild to take advantage of their current star nucleus.

I'm pretty sure Bibby for JWill was a draft day trade. I read an article where Greg Popovic said we were going to draft Tony Parker. Then we traded for Bibby on draft day and GP took Gerald Wallace instead. Parker slipped to the Spurs and the rest, as they say, is history.

As much as I would love to have Beasley as a King, Miami would be stupid not to do it. Wade and Beasley would be the next Jordan/Pippen combo, they could dominate the East for a while.
