LPKingsFan's recap:
D-Mass v. Bricklayer: Brick's got some good rock in there with Green Day, AC/DC, and Tom Petty, among others. But D-Mass's list is stronger overall, with good mix. Some 90's classics (Oasis, REM, Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam) some all-time classics (Led Zep, The Who and even some more recent hits (Coldplay and Jack Johnson). The Beastie Boys pick is the icing on the cake.
Jerryaki vs. tradepeja: Jerryaki's got some nice contemporary favorites of mine in OutKast, Jack Johnson, and of course, Boyz II Men. But tradepeja's list is one of my favorites in the whole contest: Sublime, The 1967 Beatles (well, minus Rubber Soul I guess), Nirvana (even if I'd prefer the unplugged), Skynyrd, STP, Dr. Dre... I could go on.
bozwell vs. c-diddy: Tough call. c-diddy takes bozwell if you favor 90's rock (which I do at times) coming with Nirvana, Dave Matthews, Counting Crows, Blink.. it's practically 100.5! bozwell, however gets the call with a more diverse mix (even if it's largely absent 90s rock) because it does have The Blue Album and the Bends, some great classic cuts from the Beatles and Stones, and even some good hip hop (the Roots, even if this was one of their weaker efforts, and Public Enemy.
GGG vs. atxrocker: This is probably the hardest decision in the whole shindig. Two great lists, this should be the final, in my opinion... Where to start? On principle, there's no way I should vote against a list that has some of my favorite albums from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, A Tribe Called Quest and my all time favorite, Sublime. In any other matchup, that would be the case. But atxrocker wins my vote with greater depth: not a huge fan of some of GGG's picks, while only two or three of atxrocker's aren't indispensible in my collection. That's an island my ears would enjoy.
