Successful Scenario
Due to Denver and Sacramento being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Denver and Sacramento had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Why for Kings?
The Kings will receive a defensive center who can shoot, and a defensive power forward. Kenyon Martin is injury prone, but he is an improvement over KT.
Why for Nuggets?
They move Martin's contract and receive an offensive minded center who can score alot. They need points, so they get this through Brad Miller, and another potential scorer in Garcia.
Though many of you don't like Kenyon Martin, the guy has talent and doctors are saying his knees ARE improving a lot. The guy put up great numbers on one leg last season, he should do great in a new enviroment and with two legs this year.
