meh. i trust kf.com's evaluative opinion of the kings' season as a whole much more than the national media. it's nice when the kings get a bit of credit, but as a small market team that's been mired in its losing seasons for years, i hardly expect national outlets to be either friendly or fair to the kings right now, particularly during this period of transition. the media primarily pays attention to wins and losses, after all; it's not in their purview to consider the development of young players on a largely irrelevant team, not when there are much more interesting storylines across the nba. next season is when i'll be interested to see if the narrative changes. i won't get my hopes up for a '13-'14 phoenix suns' style "cinderella story," but it would be nice if the kings' played well enough to receive some positive notice from the national media...
