Forgive me in advance, but your conspiracy narrative is baseless and sort of paranoid/schizophrenic. Let me clear where Vivek/FO stands on this one base on credible articles out there already.
Vivek/FO were actually very high on Cousins even at the very start that they went ahead into signing him for extension, despite the reported reluctance of Malone on giving Cousins his contract extension. Unlike Malone, they are smart enough at the very start and already figured this franchise cannot go anywhere without Cousins's enormous talent. They did not have second thoughts - unlike Malone. The issue was actually mentioned as one of the number of cumulative reasons why Malone was fired. It does not make sense to think Vivek/FO does not want Cousins on the team, when all along Vivek defended the decision publicly to sign Cousins for contract extension.
Vivek Ranadivé speaks out on Malone firing

"I've been beaten before," he said. "They said that Seattle had won, and we would never be able to keep this team. People said that Cousins was toxic, and he was a cancer and we should get rid of him. They said that Rudy [Gay] was terrible, and even if he came, he would never stay. They said if Isaiah [Thomas] left, the team would fall apart. So look, I'm surrounded by really smart people, and they give me great advice. They call the shots, and I support them."
Michael Malone opposed extensions for DeMarcus Cousins, Rudy Gay

Sam Amick is delivering the other side of the story, emphasis mine.
From Malone's reluctance to endorse the offering of contract extensions for
DeMarcus Cousins and
Rudy Gayto his preference that departed point guard
Isaiah Thomas was re-signed in free agency to the pursuit of a new lead assistant coach during the summer, there were disagreements about personnel and style of play at every turn that brought them all to this tipping point.
And BTW, the hiring of Karl seems to be complicated "financially" and "timing-wise" according to my source. Cousins is willing to play for any coach I was told.
