can i get the news 10 version of kevin martin's shot anywhere? i wanna hear grant

yea, thats right, I want to hear Grant Napear haha. I wanted to hear his call on it, I was at the game, so every highlight i see has been the ESPN version.

He was pretty excited and then started calling Sacramento fans "trash" for throwing glow sticks on the floor....

understandable but the way he said it was uncalled for...imo

Check my PBP and you'll see that News10 showed a clip RIGHT before that final sequence. It had "other heart-breaking shots" that had killed the Kings from NVE, Finley and Horry. And Grant was winding up big time to put all the blame for last night's game on Bonzi Wells.

He was more like a Spurs announcer, right up until the moment Bibby knocked the ball away and passed it to Martin. Then he was the ultimate Kings homer...

I don't recall hearing the "trash" comment. Of course, it might have been because of the screaming going on in my living room.

:D

"i dont like what im seeing right now. you cannot be throwing your glowsticks on the floor. that is bad. sacramento is CLASSIER than that" not trash... class

i love tivo

What amazes me the most is that Maloofs Sports actually handed out glowsticks in Arco again...

yeah...kinduva far cry from the glory days of lakers and cowbells, huh? how i miss those thrilling times...

but, all we've got is right now. the kings are lookin' good, and the fans need to follow suit.

I think the point is that the last time they handed out glowsticks, they also got thrown onto the floor.

And, as Kingsgurl reminded me, Latrell Sprewell picked one up and threw it BACK into the crowd...

I can only imagine the look in MSE's liability attorney's face when he heard. "Erm? You handed out WHAT at game 3?"

I loved the interview with Artest right afterward. Napear mentioned Artest told the some of the fans to stop throwing the glowsticks on the court. Artest said something to the effect of "Yeah, Kings fans are the best so they need to keep it classy. I know all about what happens when stuff gets thrown on to the court." and they both laugh nervously.

I don't agree with it BUT it wasn't near the same as when it happened last time. During the Minnesota series two years ago it was during the game and in protest of some calls. Hundreds of 'sticks' ended up on the court. Last night it seemed to be in more of a celebratory fashion. Like throwing your cap at graduation and it was more within the stands than onto the court.

My bad.....because of all the screaming it sounded like he said something like "Sacramento is trashier then _____". I was wrong...

Ya, I was laughing when I saw the glowsticks in the stands again. I was at the MIN game where they threw them on the floor and thought to myself "there better not be a really bad call! I know they will throw them again!"

I was like, you're giving us WHAT? I was expecting maybe a T-Shirt or some pom-poms (or a new megaphone:D )

Gee, They'd only give me a flashlight!!

I'm with Jeremy on the glowsticks. Last night they were thrown out of complete joy, nothing like the baby rattles or glowsticks thrown during the TWolves series in 04.

Last night's crowd was really worked up at the end, convinced (for good reason in my opinion) we'd gotten the shaft again. I'm just glad the KINGS prevailed because I think something really stupid would've occurred...

unfortunately, there are always a few folks who are gonna show their a$$es no matter what!!

Ditto^^^^

There were alot of people throwing them in the air.

Heck, Nobody much moved after the game for atleast 10 minutes. Im guessing they were in shock like I was.

There is no reason imo that anything should ever be thrown on to the floor. Certainly not to show displeasure and not for celebration either. It's hard for me to believe that the Maloofs would even consider giving out glowsticks again.

Yeah, I picked up on that too. It really upset me. I had been talking back to Grant on the TV telling him to just shut up and get off of Bonzi's case. He has pretty much carried this team on his back for the first 3 games but Grant was ready to dump that loss on Bonzi.

I even mentioned it several times in the PBP thread. Grant just kept harping and harping and harping, to the point where Jerry didn't even say anything.

I was convinced then - and still am - that Grant was setting the stage for his show tomorrow. To point the lame blame finger at Bonzi. Any respect I might have had left for Grant Napear (and people who read this board reguarly know how little of that there was) is now gone. I honestly think it's gotten to the point where Grant can no longer disguish his two roles. You can't be an "in your face, cutting edge" radio show host - which is how Napear perceives himself, not how I view him - on one hand and be the Kings broadcaster on the other. If I wanted to hear snipes at our own players all game long I would have listened to the Spurs broadcast.

And, once again, what was with that News10 video clip of heart-breaking losses right after Artest lost the ball out of bounds? That HAD to be set up ahead of time.

did anybody see in the postgame interview when grant talked to artest about his reaction at the end of the game? as soon as he said that, i saw a transformation in ron. his eyes got scary, he clenched his lips and pumped his fist twice as if he were getting all that intensity from the end of the game back again. he mentioned that he had to come down from the high of the game immediately and focus on game 4. but as soon as grant mentioned his reaction, artest looked posessed

That's what I thought too when I saw the glowsticks being thrown... for celebration. Still, the fans should have not thrown it though. Just like some of you guys, I was also surprise they handed out glowsticks again especially after what happen during the Wolves playoff series.

I was there in the lower level...yikes! It was in celebration, but I still wished the fans hadn't done that. After that Minnesota game, all glow sticks handed out at Arco are well-cushioned, thank goodness, but still. They do look so cool in the dark at the beginning of the game. Folks that threw them, just ruin things for everone else.

So I'm guessing nobody has one? I would have liked to have seen one too...

i saw it tonight, on news 10 at halftime, they replayed it.....

it was typical grant, i think his call on bonzi's buzzer beater in minnesota was better.....

he basically just said

'if you dont like that, you dont like kings basketball'
