Boogie getting recognition!

Hall of Famer
I thought Id drag up this old thread to post the BR ratings of top Centers in thee league. Good stuff! :D Since this now has its own thread I thought I would add that I could quibble with BRs metric here but I think it still shook out a solid ranking and it is just good to see media pointing out just what caliber of numbers DMC put up this year.

MOD NOTE: It's always confusing when people don't realize an old thread has been brought forward. For that reason, I've put this into its own thread. Boogie deserves it. #BoogieProud

I cannot in good conscience pretend to now put stock in BR when I've long mocked them, but on the other hand I will take any and all signs of recognition from anybody. We damn well better turn this thing next year though, because i am tired of fighting for Boogie's respect with the constant losing and chaos always being used as excuses to underrate him. Enough already. There is 100% not a single basketball question in the world about it, and he shouldn't be outpointing Gasol, or barely nudging him 87pts to 87pts but winning the tie breaker.

What I found interesting in the article is that when I read it last night, every commenter was complimentary of Cousins.
I couldn't find one person with the typical "Eh, Cousins - that headcase is a big whiner baby loser who never makes his team better".

Maybe they've shown up by now, but the cross-section of comments that I read suggested there has been a huge change of narrative and public opinion about Boogie.

Cousins is always pissed off. It's part of what makes him awesome and people need to get down with that.

Garnett is the same way, and he's lauded and labeled as "intense".

Cuz is maturing. He's still a young dude.

The accolades are only beginning for our guy.

Garnett was not the same way. How often did you see garnett take a defensive possession off to haggle with the refs about a foul he didn't get. I've been on the DMC train but I'm not about to revise the things he's inflicted upon himself.

at least one part of the media is catching up on what we've been preaching for two seasons now. let's see who else follows suit.

That's because Garnett was too busy getting in fights with other players and teammates, I guess.
Otherwise, you and I remember Garnett very differently.

Everyone whines in the NBA, I am watching the Warriors-Rockets game right now and every single time a shot is missed, the player that shot it would turn, look at the ref, and ***** to them about some sort of "foul." All of them do it. The only thing that DMC does differently is that he lets this affect his game negatively (forcing stuff at the rim for example), but to his credit he has become significantly better in this regard.

If you're going to paint with brushes like that, I can no longer blame others for talking about DMC in the same hamfisted way. Come on man. Garnett was amazing at using his intensity against the other team. DMC hasn't. He's gotten loads better but the whining, quitting on plays, and forcing crap next possession were very real. Garnett did not do that.

Barkley is a better comparison. But a) it was more who Barkley was rather than just immaturity that he would grow out of; and b) Barkley was a boss, you weren't going to get under his skin and throw him off his game.

Well the good news is that carmichael dave is already doing the whole "we'll have to see what happens with cuz" thing he did with Reke and IT. If this team trades cousins, I might lose my mind.

He's a cheerleader with sources close to PDA regime. Of course, for those guys Faried and Lawson look swell, and DMC's future is not figured out.

In addition to being the #1 Center in those BR ratings, Boogie was #7 in their top 200 overall. Ahead of him were Westbrook, CP3, Hardin, LeBron, Curry and Anthony Davis.

I wonder how they figured that out?

Top 10 PER 2014-15
1) 30.8 Davis
2) 29.1 Westbrook
3) 28.0 Curry
4) 26.7 Harden
5) 26.0 Paul
6) 25.9 James
7) 25.2 Cousins

8) 22.8 Aldridge
9) 22.8 Griffin
10) 22.7 PGasol

hmm... :)

Yes seeing this on twitter last night bothered me. I wonder if it means that DMC's camp has demanded a trade and therefore "whats best for the team" is to bring back the max value. I do not like seeing CD take this view on twitter - an ominous sign.

Cousins has no leverage so demanding a trade for him is fairly pointless. Trading him would be on the front office. When was the last time trading an allstar big actually improved a team?
